Role Overview

The AGM - HR will act as a strategic HR leader for the manufacturing business, driving people strategy aligned with organizational goals. This role requires strong business partnering capability, hands-on experience in manufacturing/plant HR operations, and the ability to lead strategic HR initiatives across talent management, workforce planning, organizational development, and employee engagement.

The incumbent will work closely with Business Heads and Plant Leadership Teams to build a high- performance culture, ensure statutory compliance, and strengthen organizational capability. The role demands a dynamic leader from a reputed Tier-1 / Top MBA institution with strong analytical orientation and proven experience in complex manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Business Partnering

- Partner with Business & Plant Heads to align HR strategy with manufacturing and business objectives.

- Drive workforce planning, manpower budgeting, and productivity optimization initiatives.

- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational design, performance management, and people capability.

- Provide guidance on employee relations, industrial relations, and compliance matters.

- Support Head HR in executing long-term HR transformation roadmap.

- Industrial Relations & Compliance (Manufacturing Focus)

- Lead IR strategy across plant operations ensuring harmonious union & employee relations.

- Handle wage negotiations, long-term settlements, disciplinary matters, and statutory compliance.

- Ensure adherence to labor laws, Factory Act, and other regulatory requirements.

- Mitigate legal risks through proactive governance and policy implementation.

Talent Management & Leadership Development

- Drive succession planning for key manufacturing and corporate roles.

- Lead performance management system and calibration processes.

- Design and implement leadership development programs for mid and senior-level managers.

- Develop competency frameworks aligned with manufacturing excellence.

HR Strategy, Analytics & Workforce Optimization

- Use HR analytics to drive data-based decision-making.

- Track key HR metrics: productivity ratios, attrition, absenteeism, cost per hire, training ROI, etc.

- Drive automation and digital HR initiatives within plant and corporate HR functions.

- Lead HR transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Organizational Development & Change Management

- Lead change management initiatives for business expansion, automation, or restructuring.

- Drive culture-building initiatives aligned with organizational values.

- Facilitate engagement surveys and implement action plans to improve retention and morale.

- Strengthen employer branding in the manufacturing ecosystem.

HR Operations & Governance

- Oversee compensation planning, payroll governance, and policy compliance.

- Ensure smooth execution of recruitment, onboarding, and workforce deployment.

- Strengthen HR processes and SOPs across manufacturing units.

Educational Qualification

- MBA / PGDM in HR from Top Tier / Premier B-School (Tier-1 preferred)

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Commerce / Management preferred.

Experience Required

- 10-14 years of progressive HR experience.

- Minimum 5+ years in manufacturing / plant HR environment.

- Strong exposure to Industrial Relations & statutory compliance.

- Experience in large-scale workforce management.
