Description:
About Recur Club
Recur Club is an AI-native debt marketplace revolutionizing how SMEs and startups access growth and working capital. We use real-time business data and proprietary underwriting algorithms to match high-quality borrowers with institutional and alternative lenders - delivering capital in weeks, not months.
We serve both VC-backed growth stage startups and traditional businesses with stable cash flows, offering both secured and unsecured structured debt financing solutions. Backed by top-tier investors, Recur Club is building the infrastructure (faster, smarter and Founder / Promoter first) to power credit distribution at scale.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic Startup Relationship Manager to work closely with Founders, Promoters, and CXOs of early and growth-stage startups and SMEs to understand their funding requirements and facilitate the right debt solutions. The role involves building strong relationships within the startup ecosystem, originating and managing debt transactions, and driving deals from client engagement to successful closure. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial understanding, consultative client engagement, and the ability to build credibility with founders and finance leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition & Portfolio Development:
- Lead acquisition and relationship management of high-potential startups, SMEs, and emerging corporates, driving structured portfolio growth.
- Build and manage a diversified client portfolio, serving as the primary point of contact for founders across onboarding, relationship management, and strategic engagement.
- Proactively identify and onboard new clients through direct outreach, referrals, and the broader startup ecosystem.
Founder & CXO Engagement:
- Work closely with Founders, Promoters, and CFOs to understand their business models, growth plans, and funding requirements.
- Conduct 34 meetings daily with founders and finance leaders to discuss capital solutions and financing options.
- Provide banking and growth advisory, supporting financial readiness, capital structuring, and business scalability.
Consultative Capital Advisory:
- Assess business models and financial health to recommend the most suitable debt solutions, including working capital financing, venture debt, term loans, asset-backed financing, invoice discounting, and revenue-based financing.
- Build trust with finance decision-makers through financial insights, solution-driven discussions, and strategic advisory.
- Lead discussions on engagement terms and close platform commercials with clients.
Deal Execution & Coordination:
- Manage the end-to-end deal lifecycle, including initial evaluation, financial due diligence, structuring, and execution.
- Collaborate with internal capital consultants, operations teams, and lenders to ensure smooth execution and timely closure of transactions.
- Maintain strong momentum across stakeholders to fast-track deals and ensure successful outcomes.
Ecosystem Relationship Building:
- Build and nurture relationships across the startup ecosystem, including founders, investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
- Act as a strategic liaison between startups and lenders/investors, facilitating funding conversations to support growth and scale-up objectives.
What Were Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing and managing SME/startup clients with an annual turnover of 50 Cr+.
- Proven track record of managing a portfolio of 150+ active clients.
- At least 50% of the client base should be self-acquired, demonstrating strong relationship-building and client acquisition capability.
- Strong understanding of debt products, including secured and unsecured loans, working capital finance, invoice discounting, cash-flow lending, venture debt, and revenue-based financing.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders such as founders and CFOs.
- Self-driven professional with strong ownership, discipline, and execution mindset.
Preferred Background:
- Experience with Banks or NBFCs, particularly in Working Capital, Overdraft (OD), or Cash Credit (CC) teams.
- Exposure to startup banking, SME lending, venture debt, or capital advisory roles will be an advantage.
