Role Overview:

The Director of Structured Finance for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) will lead the origination, structuring, and execution of complex financing solutions for high-value real estate assets. Based in Mumbai, this role involves working closely with institutional developers, private equity firms, and internal risk and legal teams to deliver bespoke capital structures. You will be responsible for driving the growth of the CRE portfolio, managing high-stakes client relationships, and ensuring that all transactions align with the banks risk appetite and strategic objectives, ultimately contributing to the banks market leadership in the structured finance space.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end origination and execution of structured debt transactions for commercial real estate projects to expand the banks footprint in the sector.

- Analyze complex financial models and market data to structure credit facilities that mitigate risk while meeting the specific capital requirements of institutional clients.

- Manage senior-level relationships with key stakeholders, including developers and investors, to identify new business opportunities and maintain a robust deal pipeline.

- Collaborate with internal credit, legal, and compliance teams to navigate regulatory requirements and secure internal approvals for complex financing structures.

- Oversee the portfolio management of existing CRE assets, monitoring performance and identifying early warning signals to protect the banks capital.

- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on deal structuring and market analysis to foster a high-performance culture.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in structuring complex commercial real estate transactions, including mezzanine financing, construction loans, and acquisition financing.

- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and credit analysis, with the ability to interpret market trends and assess the viability of large-scale real estate developments.

- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and represent the bank in high-stakes client meetings.

- Proven track record of managing large, cross-functional teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, high-pressure corporate banking environment.

- Deep understanding of the Indian real estate regulatory landscape and the broader macroeconomic factors impacting the sector.

- A postgraduate degree in Finance, Management, or a related field from a premier institute is preferred.

- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid office environment, maintaining high levels of engagement with both local and international teams.
