Job Description - Fund Manager

Location: Mumbai

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Fund Manager to lead equity research, generate high-conviction ideas and manage long only, growth oriented portfolios within our Portfolio Management Services division. The role requires deep expertise in fundamental research, portfolio construction and disciplined investment decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Research:

- Conduct detailed fundamental research on companies and sectors.

- Build and maintain financial models and valuation frameworks.

- Prepare investment theses, management meeting summaries and tracking notes.

- Identify high growth businesses aligned with our long term investment philosophy.

Portfolio Management:

- Manage equity portfolios with a disciplined long only, growth driven approach.

- Review portfolio exposures, liquidity, risk levels and sector weights.

- Make buy, sell and rebalance decisions based on research insights.

- Coordinate with the dealing team to ensure best execution of trades.

Market Tools and Analysis:

- Use Bloomberg and other market data platforms for research and monitoring.

- Track macroeconomic trends, corporate developments and industry changes.

- Apply technical analysis where relevant to support decision making.

Reporting and Communication:

- Prepare monthly and quarterly performance attribution reports.

- Contribute to investor communication, presentations and portfolio factsheets.

- Work closely with internal teams to ensure accuracy of information shared with clients.

Candidate Requirements:

- Seven to ten years of experience in equity research, portfolio management or fund management.

- Strong expertise in financial modelling, company analysis and valuation.

- Deep understanding of the Indian equity market and growth investing.

- Hands-on experience with Bloomberg and other market research tools.

- Ability to make independent, research backed investment decisions.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst or Master of Business Administration in Finance are preferred.
