We are now launching our Market Linkage vertical for the first time to directly connect farmers with buyers, scale commodity trading, and generate revenue growth.
Position: Senior Manager - Market Linkage
Purpose:
To establish and lead SRAPCL's new market linkage business vertical-building it from the ground up, creating the team, designing processes, and ensuring profitable procurement and trading of agri commodities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build & Establish Market Linkage Vertical (Startup Mode):
- Take ownership of setting up this new vertical as if running a startup within SRAPCL.
- Design procurement and trading processes from scratch.
- Recruit, train, and manage the field and operations team.
- Work directly on the ground with farmers and buyers to establish trust and volume flow.
2. Commodity Procurement & Trading:
- Lead procurement of wheat, paddy, soyabean, maize, and other crops.
- Manage farmer aggregation, pricing, and procurement logistics.
- Ensure profitable sales to buyers, processors, and institutional markets.
- Track mandi rates and farmer economics daily.
3. Market Linkages & Partnerships:
- Build and manage relationships with traders, wholesalers, processors, and corporates.
- Negotiate contracts and bulk deals with favorable margins.
- Develop new channels for FPO produce (mandis, processors, exporters).
4. Business Planning & Execution:
- Prepare monthly/annual procurement and trading plans.
- Work with Finance team for working capital planning, cash flow, and receivables management.
- Deliver targeted trading volumes and revenue growth.
5. Farmer Engagement & Trust Building:
- Organise procurement campaigns, farmer meetings, and price awareness sessions.
- Ensure transparent pricing and timely payment to farmers.
- Increase farmer participation in SRAPCL trading activities.
6. Team Leadership & Reporting:
- Build and lead a small but efficient team for procurement and market linkage.
- Implement reporting discipline and MIS (volume, price, margins, receivables).
- Submit monthly market linkage P&L to CEO and MANCOM.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in procurement, trading, or market linkage in an FPO, agri-startup, or agribusiness company.
- Track Record: Proven experience in scaling trading volumes and revenue generation.
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial, able to work independently, create systems, and build a team-treating the role as a startup venture.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of mandi systems, government procurement schemes, and commodity trading practices.
- Skills: Negotiation, vendor/buyer management, financial discipline.
- Location: Must be based in Dabra or Gwalior (no metro-based candidates).
- Leadership: Ability to manage procurement teams and farmer relations effectively.
