Description:

Requirements:

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 4+ years in engineering management roles

- Proven experience managing large, multi-team engineering orgs (20+ engineers)

- Strong background building and scaling SaaS products in fast-growing environments

- Solid understanding of modern backend systems, APIs, databases, and cloud-native architectures

- Experience working with agile development practices in high-ownership teams

- Strong people leadership skills with a track record of building and retaining top talent

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

- Experience building enterprise or workflow-heavy products

- Prior experience in scale-up environments

- Exposure to compliance, security, or data-privacy-driven products

Day to Day responsibilities:

People & Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and manage multiple engineering teams (30+ engineers across levels)

- Build and retain high-performing teams, including hiring and developing ace engineers aligned to SpotDrafts talent bar

- Develop future tech leads and managers; drive clear career paths, succession planning, and growth plans

- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, psychological safety, and continuous improvement

Delivery & Execution

- Own delivery outcomes for the Core CLM product, ensuring predictability, quality, and velocity

- Translate product strategy into executable engineering plans and roadmaps

- Drive sprint planning, prioritization, execution, and retrospectives across teams

- Balance speed and quality while managing technical trade-offs

Technical & Architectural Oversight

- Provide technical direction and architectural guidance

- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable

- Partner with Staff/Principal Engineers on design reviews and long-term architecture

- Drive reduction of technical debt and improve platform reliability and performance

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Product Managers to align on scope, timelines, and outcomes

- Partner with Design, QA, Customer Success, and Support to deliver customer-centric solutions

- Communicate clearly with leadership on progress, risks, dependencies, and metrics

Process & Operational Excellence

- Establish and continuously improve engineering processes and best practices

- Define and track engineering metrics (delivery, quality, reliability, team health)

- Improve developer productivity, tooling, and engineering standards

- Support incident management, postmortems, and operational readiness
