Specialist - Supply Chain & Distribution

Description:

We are looking for a proactive and solution-oriented professional to support end-to-end supply chain and distribution operations. The role focuses on managing logistics partners, ensuring smooth daily operations, and improving efficiency across the distribution network.


Key Responsibilities:

- Identify, onboard, and manage transport vendors, ensuring adequate truck availability at all operating locations.

- Optimize truck utilization through route planning and triangulation to improve operational efficiency.

- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and operational norms and monitor transporter performance regularly.

- Plan and execute daily dispatch schedules, ensure FIFO docking, and close all Purchase Orders (POs within the day).

- Manage operational challenges including loading/unloading issues, in-transit delays, accidents, diversions, and escalations when required.

- Handle quality and quantity (QnQ), off-spec material, and Proof of Delivery (POD) related issues, ensuring timely resolution.

- Coordinate reverse logistics and return pickups across locations.

- Prepare and share daily and monthly logistics MIS reports in a timely manner.

- Coordinate with internal teams and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations and resolve disputes.

- Support incident and accident investigations in coordination with safety and logistics teams.

- Manage marine insurance processes and support dispute closure.

- Track daily and monthly performance of Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and share improvement insights with central logistics teams.

- Ensure uninterrupted supplies and prevent stock-outs or sales losses caused by logistics or scheduling issues.

- Improve logistics processes using logistics SaaS platforms (e.g., ClickPost).

- Prepare contingency plans for transport disruptions and manage emergency situations.

- Support freight and transportation cost negotiations with logistics stakeholders.

- Knowledge of EXIM operations will be an added advantage.


Skills & Experience Required:

- 5-6 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution operations.

- Ability to manage and maintain strong relationships with transporters and last-mile logistics partners.

- Working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets for data tracking and reporting.

- Strong communication skills (email and verbal) with attention to detail.

- Patient, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
