Role/ Job Title: Specialist - Priority Sector Lending (PSL) Reporting
Function/ Department: Finance - Regulatory Reporting
Location: BKC Mumbai
Job Purpose:
The Specialist - PSL Reporting is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of Priority Sector Lending (PSL) data to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders. The role involves ensuring compliance with RBI PSL guidelines, maintaining robust data controls, coordinating with multiple business units, and supporting automation and governance initiatives related to PSL reporting.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Regulatory Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare, validate, and submit Priority Sector Lending (PSL) reports in accordance with RBI Master Circulars / Master Directions and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate classification of advances under various PSL categories - Agriculture, MSME, Export Credit, Education, Housing, Renewable Energy, Social Infrastructure, and Others.
- Reconcile PSL data across Loan Management Systems and Regulatory Data Repository.
- Ensure accurate reporting under PSL returns (e.g., DSB, FIDD) within prescribed timelines.
- Support regulatory audits, RBI inspections, and internal reviews related to PSL compliance.
Data Accuracy, Validation & Reconciliation
- Conduct end-to-end data validation, control checks, and reconciliation between source systems and reporting templates.
- Review exceptions, perform root-cause analysis for data mismatches, and coordinate with relevant business units to ensure resolution.
- Maintain detailed data lineage documentation and ensure traceability for all PSL data points.
Process Governance & Documentation
- Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for PSL reporting processes.
- Maintain a central repository for PSL guidelines, policy updates, and process changes.
Regulatory Updates & Change Management
- Track RBI notifications, circulars, and clarifications related to PSL classification, targets, and subtargets.
- Partner with Business teams to ensure product alignment with evolving PSL definitions and thresholds.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with IT and Data teams to automate data extraction, transformation, and reporting workflows for PSL returns.
- Support the design and testing of reports, data validation (UATs), and exception management reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, reduce manual intervention, and enhance operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Management & Audit Support
- Liaise with Business Units, analytics and operations to ensure consistent classification and understanding of PSL data.
- Support internal, statutory, and RBI audits by providing reconciled data, justifications, and documentation.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports and management dashboards on PSL achievements and shortfalls.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of RBI PSL guidelines and Master Directions.
- Knowledge of banking products and lending portfolios, including SME, Agri, Retail, and Corporate segments.
- Hands-on experience in regulatory reporting, data reconciliation, and audit management.
- Proficiency in Excel, and data visualization/reporting tools.
- Experience with data warehouses.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills across multiple functions.
