Packaging Strategy, Design & Development:

- Develop and implement innovative and sustainable packaging strategies aligned with business objectives.

- To develop innovative and cost-effective packaging solutions to meet the correct product requirements and sustainability goals.

- Collaborate with R&D, marketing, procurement, and production teams to design packaging that meets brand and regulatory requirements.

- To collaborate with industries experts / institutions to work on new materials, packaging designs, technologies, and automations to improve packaging efficiency/sustainability and cost.

- Ensure packaging solutions enhance product shelf life, durability, and customer convenience.

- Responsible for deciding the existing packaging of a product, modifying the existing packaging material or change the material altogether meeting the standards set by FSSAI and organization.

- Collaborate with product development teams to ensure packaging designs comply with food safety regulations, environmental laws, and branding guidelines.

- Conduct market research to stay abreast of the latest packaging trends within the food industry.

Packaging Procurement:

- To select and evaluate packaging suppliers for quality, cost, and reliability.

- Knowledge of sustainability principles and experience in implementing sustainable procurement practices.

- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve cost-effective solutions from suppliers.

Vendor Management:

- Manage supplier performance, ensuring delivery timelines and quality standards as per specs.

- Establish strong relationships with vendors and monitor their performance.

Cost Optimization & Analysis:

- To conduct analysis on packaging costs, material's reactivity, various forms of packaging material and efficiencies to optimize cost and material specifications.

- Track industry trends to identify opportunities for reducing costs without compromising quality.

- To conduct benchmark study periodically, to ensure market knowledge and new developments with product improvement, ahead of all.

Quality & Compliance:

- Ensure all packaging materials meet quality, safety, and legal standards (FDA, FSSAI, BIS, etc.).

- Implement rigorous quality checks and conduct root-cause analysis for packaging defects.

Sustainability & ESG Initiatives:

- Develop and implement eco-friendly packaging strategies to reduce carbon footprint and plastic waste.

- Promote biodegradable, recyclable, or reusable packaging materials.

- Drive packaging sustainability initiatives and monitor compliance with environmental regulations.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination:

- Lead and mentor a team of packaging engineers and designers.

- Coordinate with marketing, R&D, supply chain, and production teams to ensure packaging aligns with business goals.

- Conduct training programs for employees on packaging innovations and sustainability best practices.
