The Head - Sourcing & Procurement will lead the end-to-end procurement function for the organization, ensuring cost-efficient, reliable, and compliant sourcing of raw materials, packaging, consumables, and services. The role is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier ecosystem management, cost optimization, and supply risk mitigation while supporting uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Excellence

- Define and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business growth and production plans

- Drive cost optimization through negotiations, alternate sourcing, long-term contracts, and value engineering

- Lead annual and quarterly rate negotiations with key vendors

- Develop should-costing models and track realized vs negotiated savings

2. Supplier & Vendor Management

- Manage a vendor base of 100+ suppliers across categories

- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop strategic and alternate suppliers

- Establish vendor performance scorecards (cost, quality, delivery, compliance)

- Conduct regular supplier reviews, audits, and risk assessments

- Build long-term partnerships with critical suppliers

3. Procurement Operations & Cross-Functional Coordination

Oversee procurement of:

- Raw materials

- Packaging materials

- Consumables, spares, and services

- Ensure timely material availability in line with production and demand plans

- Work closely with Planning, Production, QA, Finance, and Logistics teams

- Resolve supply constraints and escalations proactively

4. Inventory & Working Capital Optimization

- Optimize inventory levels to balance service levels and working capital

- Reduce excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory

- Improve inventory turnover and payment terms with suppliers

- Partner with finance to improve cash flow efficiency

5. Governance, Compliance & Systems

- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, and ethical sourcing standards

- Maintain audit-ready documentation and statutory compliance

- Drive ERP-based procurement processes (SAP / Oracle / Tally or similar)

- Introduce process automation, controls, and transparency

6. Team Leadership, Capability Building & Cross Functional Coordination

- Work closely with design, marketing, operations teams to get the best material at cost competitive pricing.

- Lead and develop a team of 10-15 sourcing and procurement professionals

- Set clear KRAs, performance metrics, and development plans

- Build negotiation, analytics, and vendor management capabilities

- Foster a culture of accountability, cost consciousness, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering / supply chain / commerce

- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred)

Experience:

- 15-20 years of experience in sourcing/procurement within a manufacturing organization

- Minimum 4-5 years in a leadership role managing teams and vendors

- Experience managing multi-category procurement and large vendor ecosystems

- Must Have experience- Furniture, Textile, Rug leather, solid wood industry in export-oriented businesses
