
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, agricultural commodities, and other critical procurement categories.
- Establish long-term procurement roadmaps aligned with business growth and cost objectives.
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to enhance supply security, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Identify and develop alternate sourcing channels and suppliers to reduce dependency and supply risks.
- Build category-wise sourcing strategies and procurement plans.
Potato & Agricultural Commodity Procurement:
- Lead end-to-end procurement of potato and other agri-based raw materials required for manufacturing operations.
- Develop sustainable sourcing models through farmers, aggregators, traders, cold storages, and strategic suppliers.
- Monitor crop cycles, acreage, yield forecasts, market trends, and commodity movements to support sourcing decisions.
- Establish long-term partnerships with growers and suppliers to ensure year-round material availability.
- Identify and develop new sourcing clusters and procurement networks.
- Ensure quality compliance from farm to factory through supplier audits and field assessments.
Supplier Development & Vendor Management:
- Build and manage a robust supplier ecosystem across RM and PM categories.
- Lead supplier identification, onboarding, evaluation, and performance management processes.
- Develop strategic supplier relationships to drive innovation, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
- Conduct periodic supplier reviews and implement supplier development initiatives.
- Establish clear vendor governance and performance scorecards.
Cost Optimization & Commercial Excellence:
- Lead commercial negotiations, annual contracts, and strategic procurement initiatives.
- Drive cost reduction through:
1. Strategic Negotiations
2. Alternate Supplier Development
3. Value Engineering
4. Procurement Efficiency Initiatives
5. Commodity Intelligence
- Monitor commodity markets and pricing trends to optimize procurement decisions.
- Ensure procurement spends remain within approved budgets.
- Drive PPV (Purchase Price Variance) improvements and procurement savings.
Supply Continuity & Inventory Governance:
- Ensure timely availability of all materials as per business and manufacturing requirements.
- Work closely with the Planning and Manufacturing teams to align procurement activities with production schedules.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Monitor inventory health through:
1. ABC Analysis
2. Inventory Ageing
3. Slow Moving & Non-Moving Inventory Review
4. Safety Stock Management
- Develop contingency sourcing plans to mitigate supply disruptions.
Quality, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Partner with Quality teams to ensure procurement of materials meeting approved specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, SOPs, audit requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Drive adherence to FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, vendor compliance, and quality governance standards.
- Lead procurement risk management initiatives and develop business continuity plans.
- Ensure complete procurement documentation, traceability, and audit readiness.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement and sourcing teams across locations.
- Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance metrics and capability development plans for team members.
- Lead digitization, process standardization, and procurement excellence initiatives.
- Build a high-performance procurement organization capable of supporting future business growth.
