Role Overview:
The Cost Accounting Manager will oversee all cost-related financial activities, ensuring accurate cost allocation, reporting, and analysis. The role involves preparing and evaluating cost statements, conducting variance analysis, monitoring budgets, and supporting strategic financial planning. The position requires strong collaboration with production, supply chain, audit, and finance teams to drive cost efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end cost accounting processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare accurate cost reports, cost sheets, and financial statements for management review.
- Conduct variance analysis between standard costs and actuals, highlighting gaps and improvement areas.
- Oversee journal entries, ledger postings, and month-end cost accounting activities.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to analyze cost structures and optimize cost drivers.
- Ensure accurate reporting and documentation for internal and external cost audits.
- Monitor budgets, analyze spending patterns, and support cost planning initiatives.
- Provide insights for pricing decisions, product costing, and profitability analysis.
- Improve cost control mechanisms and streamline costing processes.
- Use ERP systems and Excel-based models to prepare detailed costing dashboards and MIS reports.
Required Skillsets:
- Strong expertise in cost accounting principles, cost allocation, and standard costing.
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and cost-related reporting.
- Hands-on experience in costing, variance analysis, and budgeting.
- Ability to interact with internal and external cost auditors.
- Deep understanding of accounting processes, journal entries, and ERP-based costing systems.
- Advanced MS Excel skills for modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
- MBA/CWA/CMA qualification preferred.
