Job Description:

The Business Analyst will serve as a critical liaison between mortgage business teams, technology, and third-party vendors, supporting post-closing loan diligence activities.

The role focuses on ensuring investor and regulatory guideline requirements - including investor overlay configurations - are accurately translated into mortgage applications and systems.

The analyst will also oversee automation testing efforts and contribute to ongoing system maintenance to ensure stable, compliant, and efficient loan review operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner closely with business stakeholders to support third party diligence reviews of closed mortgage loans, ensuring alignment with investor, agency, and regulatory requirements.

- Analyze and document investor guidelines and overlays and ensure accurate configuration within loan origination, quality control, or diligence platforms.

- Translate business and compliance requirements into functional specifications, business rules, and acceptance criteria for technology teams.

- Review and validate system behavior to ensure loan-level decisions, flags, and conditions are driven by correct guideline logic.

- Support and oversee automation testing initiatives, including test scenario identification, test case review, UAT coordination, and defect triage.

- Collaborate with QA and development teams to ensure automation scripts reflect real world mortgage diligence scenarios and investor-specific rules.

- Assist in system maintenance activities, including change impact assessment, configuration updates, regression testing, and release validation.

- Act as a subject-matter resource for mortgage diligence workflows, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of guidelines across teams and vendors.

- Support audits, internal reviews, and issue remediation by providing requirement traceability and documentation.

Must Have & Desired Skills:

- Strong understanding of the US mortgage lifecycle, particularly post-closing, quality control, or loan diligence processes.

- Solid knowledge of investor guidelines and overlays and how they impact loan eligibility and compliance.

- Proven experience as a Business Analyst working with technology and QA teams.

- Hands on exposure to UAT, automation testing concepts, and defect management.

- Ability to analyze complex business rules and express them clearly in documentation.

- Excellent stakeholder communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with mortgage systems such as LOS, QC, diligence, or compliance platforms.

- Familiarity with agency guidelines and private investor overlays.

- Understanding of Agile or hybrid delivery models.

- Exposure to mortgage audits, repurchase risk, or buyback reviews.
