Business Development Manager Solar Industry.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager with 2-8 years of experience in the solar industry to join our growing team.

This role will be primarily focused on identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, building corporate relationships, and driving the expansion of the companys presence in the solar market.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services sector and will play a crucial role in the development and execution of business strategies aimed at securing corporate clients and projects.

This is a remote position with flexible work options, but candidates must be based in or around Maharashtra, Rajasthan, or Delhi, as the role requires 70% travel across these regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Opportunity Identification:

- Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential new business opportunities in the solar industry, focusing on corporate clients and projects in EPC services.

- Analyze emerging trends in the solar market, including technological advancements, regulatory changes, and market shifts, to identify new areas for growth.

- Explore opportunities in untapped markets and industries that could benefit from solar energy solutions.

Lead Generation & Qualification:

- Build a robust pipeline of leads by engaging with potential clients through networking, attending industry events, participating in trade shows, and leveraging market research.

- Develop targeted outreach strategies to generate high-quality leads and qualify prospects based on their needs, size, and project requirements.

- Utilize CRM tools and reporting mechanisms to track lead progress and ensure timely follow-up, ensuring a smooth transition from lead to opportunity.

Corporate Relationship Management:

- Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in corporate organizations, including senior executives, project managers, and sustainability leaders.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expertise on solar energy solutions, project management, and EPC services.

- Address clients needs, concerns, and goals by proposing tailored solar energy solutions that align with their business objectives.

Strategy Development & Execution:

- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to enhance the companys market presence, particularly in the EPC sector for corporate clients.

- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and operations, to align sales strategies with project execution capabilities.

- Work closely with senior leadership to define market expansion goals, track progress, and adjust strategies as needed to meet business objectives.

Contract Negotiation & Closing:

- Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms for the company while meeting the clients needs and expectations.

- Coordinate with legal and finance teams to finalize contracts and ensure smooth project delivery.

- Oversee the handover of projects from the sales team to project management to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.

Reporting & Performance Tracking:

- Track business development activities, including lead generation, deal pipeline, and revenue growth, using CRM tools and internal reporting systems.

- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on market trends, competitive analysis, and the status of business development efforts.

Qualifications:

- Experience: 3-8 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the solar energy industry.

- Industry Knowledge: Proven understanding of the solar energy market, specifically in EPC services (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), as well as solar technologies, regulations, and trends.

- Relationship Management: Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, key stakeholders, and decision-makers.

- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and closing high-value deals with corporate clients.

- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage clients and internal teams effectively.

- Travel Requirements: This role requires 70% travel within Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Delhi.

- Flexibility is required for frequent site visits, client meetings, and business development activities.

- Remote Working: This is a remote-based position with candidates required to be located within Maharashtra, Rajasthan, or Delhi to facilitate regional travel.

- Self-Sourcing Data: Use market intelligence, networking, and research to identify and generate high-value leads and new business opportunities.
