Senior Manager Controllership
The Senior Manager Controllership is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining a robust internal control environment, and driving compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role partners with business leaders to improve financial processes, strengthen governance, and support strategic decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Close:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, or Ind AS, as applicable).
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting.
Controllership & Compliance:
- Maintain a strong internal control framework and ensure compliance with SOX (where applicable) and company policies.
- Monitor compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Implement and monitor financial governance and risk management practices.
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee general ledger accounting and related accounting activities.
- Ensure accounting policies are consistently applied across the organization.
- Resolve complex accounting issues and provide technical accounting guidance.
- Review significant accounting transactions and recommend appropriate treatment.
Business Partnership:
- Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, HR, and business teams to support financial objectives.
- Provide insights into financial performance and key accounting matters.
- Support business initiatives, acquisitions, restructuring, and new process implementations from an accounting perspective.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives and process standardization.
- Drive automation using ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Develop and monitor KPIs for controllership performance.
Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the controllership team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Support succession planning and talent development within the finance function.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified CA
EXPERIENCE
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or financial reporting.
- Experience leading month-end close and statutory reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, or Ind AS).
- Experience working with multinational organizations or shared services is preferred.
- Prior people management experience with cross-functional collaboration.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with financial reporting and consolidation tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit management.
