Purpose of the Position (Short Summary of the Role):
An Industrial Relations specialist serves as a crucial link between the workforce and the management. He has to be instrumental on fostering constructive labor-management relationships, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Monitor planning and execution of Team Members and flexible manpower recruitment and managing & ensuring overall manpower as per business requirement
- Attending various union management meeting like ERC and addressing the employee relation trends & issue from time to time.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relation issues.
- Disciplinary action proceedings based on complaints received from shops and also based on discipline not followed while working on shop floor.
- Recruitment of ITI Trainee or relevant category candidate as and when required.
- Be a part of productivity workshop on some specific occasion to move out surplus team members or contractual to some other shop.
- Implementation of wage settlement and agreed processes like variable pay documentation etc.
- Engaging with trade unions to define job roles, responsibilities, and avoid potential conflicts.
- Discussing job classifications and wage structures with workers' representatives.
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances.
- Apprentices recruitment and ensure availability of apprentice as per defriend number.
- Attending weekly hiring meeting and coordination and informing respective stakeholder for completing activities at their part.
- Ensuring Smooth & healthy Work environment in the organization
- Conceptualizing & Driving employee engagement activities & Rewards and Recognition initiatives
- Day to day Interacting with Unionized workforce for different issues and addressing the Queries of Team members on timely basis.
- Managing grievances and disputes involving Team Members, staff and contractual manpower and ensuring prompt and fair resolutions
- Flexible Contract manpower management across factory.
- Preparation of various Notices and informing unions on timely basis.
- Coordinate in between CSN Union and Pune union for Covid Benefit Fund meeting and closing the points in it.
Authority:
- Acting as the first point of contact for employee grievances and disciplinary actions.
- Liaising with apprentice advisors and various auditors.
- Advising the management on policy changes affecting industrial relations.
- Issuing warnings, suspensions, and termination recommendations for misconduct Ensuring fair domestic inquiry proceedings before any disciplinary action.
- Ensuring adherence to Industrial Disputes Act, Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, and other labor laws.

Key Responsibilities &Tasks:
Description:
Flexible manpower Recruitment and Apprentices Engagement (30%) :-
- Recruitment of flexible workforce as per company plan while maintaining production efficiency, and adhering labor law requirements.
- Engaging Apprentices with the company and doing time to time compliance as per Apprentices Act, 1961 in India.
Industrial Relation (20%) :
- Ensuring Discipline on the shop floor and preparing and issuing letter of Indiscipline to Team Members.
- Preparing data for monthly and annual Variable Pay activities with individual Shop and implementing it.
Ensure smooth relation with Union:
- Organizing employee communication meetings & timely redressal of grievances/concerns to achieve employee satisfaction.
- Collection of Data and consolidating the same for Various Companies to understand the Current Practices introduced
Employee Engagement Initiative (10%):
- Conceptualize & Drive Various initiatives for Employee Engagement activities like Sports Tournament, Festival Celebration, Meeting with HOD Etc.
- Connecting and Counselling of Employees through dialogues & informal meet.
- Responsible to drive Rewards and recognition activities in the plant like employee of the year, Long service award.
Employee Relations Committee meeting (10%):
- Acting as a bridge between employees and management.
- Gathering employee input on workplace changes.
- Discussing company strategies and their impact on employees.
- Addressing workplace conflicts
- Managing employee complaints and finding out appropriate solutions in coordination with respective stakeholders.
Discipline in the Factory (20%):
- Maintaining cordial relationship with employees.
- Acting as a bridge between Management and employees for different types of initiatives and for timely communications.
- Dealing with indiscipline cases on shop and taking disciplinary actions as per Certified Standing Orders of the company such as, Counselling, Advisory, Warning, Suspension or Conducting Enquiry etc.
- Representing company in the Labor Court or Industrial Tribunal for various disputes and court cases.
Liaisoning and Industrial Relations Audits (10%) :
- Liaisoning involves maintaining smooth communication and coordination between the company, government authorities, labor unions, and other stakeholders.
- Preparing and attending various IR audits such as ISO, QMS and various audits of Volkswagen Group of effectiveness of workplace relations, compliance with labor laws etc.
