Purpose of the Position (Short Summary of the Role) :

- The position is responsible for localization of pre-defined (for all Commodities) car parts and engine parts (for Indian and Export projects) from suppliers in right quantity and quality for the various builds as per the defined Project milestones.

- Key skills necessary are tooling expertise (Plastic. Metal, Forging, casting, welding, Automation etc.) and strong project management.

- He/She should be skillful in managing the part development process with different processes/ different technical standards with different suppliers. He/She should plan, collaborate and steer with internal CFT team program to achieve the localization, part producibility, capacity targets, and supplier's industrialization, Supplier tooling upkeep, optimizing the production processes at supplier end, evaluating & implementing new technologies and to ensure trouble-free ramp up & launch of the product. The position should also guide and train the field engineers within the team.

Authority :

- Agreement and approval for all responsible parts for Date commitments,

- Approval for responsible parts Tool design and tool relocation.

- Approval for Action Measures for the directly responsible parts.

- Evaluation of project relevant activities and escalation to supplier management.

- Review, planning, monitoring of the part development with Supplier an internal CFT.

Skills :

- Automotive Tooling and Manufacturing processes - (plastic, metal, powertrain, chassis, electrical) & latest trends

- Knowledge on tooling processes and latest trends

- Knowledge to evaluate and give feedback on mold designs and tool designs

- Plastic joining technologies and Metal welding technologies

- Capacity study, bottleneck identification and Actions deployment

Key Responsibilities & Tasks :

Tooling Development & Industrialization & Gate Process for Parts responsible for:

i. Implementation of 7 Gate development process.

ii. Ensuring the supplier part development and readiness (Industrialization and Tooling development) as per the targets set in project milestones like VFF, PVS, OS and SOP for Car.

iii. Initiation and accomplishment of timeline commitment with supplier and CFT

iv. Conducting the producibilty check (Tool design, Mold flow review, Feasibility study, Simulations, Process study, Raw material suitability, capacity planning etc.)

v. Tracking of tools and equipment by physical verification at suppliers/toolmakers site (Involves extensive travel). Ensure transfer to series location as per planning.

vi. Ensuring timely solutions to technical problems, manufacturability and development.

vii. Capacity planning, implementation and enhancement as per the contract at supplier end.

viii. Coordination and tracking of the project. Periodic and continuous reviews with suppliers.

ix. Forecasting of possible risks at various stages of development. Ensure timely intervention and mitigation actions to avoid failures.

x. Management reporting and escalation for any project related issues.

Organization - Field Expert, Supplier Readiness Management

i. Define Process for Management Special tasks, Track and Ensure the results

ii. Ensuring process adherence - QMS, Gate process

Support Function:

i. Support for New Project feasibility to Purchasing Project Management on Timeline and Investment

ii. Technical service provider to direct purchase in the area of:1. Tooling and Machine breakdown, Line stoppage, Transfer of tools. Capacity check and enhancement for increased demands.

iii. Implementation of measures for cost reduction through Sourcing tools from India / Asia and deep localization

iv. Development of C3 relevant parts and Series Support to Other Brands like Audi, Bentley, WN and Regions like SA, Mexico, Brazil, Russia and Germany.
