Purpose of the Position: This position plays a key role in engaging with policy makers, regulators & the government to protect & enhance the company's business interests. It is responsible for initiative-taking policy ideation, supporting teams and departments withing the organization by facilitating required clarification & approvals, collaborating closely with key stakeholders including trade bodies & associations, embassies and consulates, government & regulatory bodies, and enabling new opportunities for business, while strengthening the brand Authority: - Meetings with government officials - Participating in committees & task forces of industry associations, Chambers of Commerce & technical bodies like Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) - Engagement with Diplomatic Mission & International Trade Associations like EBG, IGCC etc. Skills Required: - Stakeholder & Relationship Management - Strategic Orientation, ability to work under pressure & Crisis Management - Focus on perseverance. - Communication & Presentation Skills Key Responsibilities & Tasks: A) Policy Advocacy, Government engagement & Relationship Building 1. To work with relevant Ministries in Delhi (Ministry of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Road Transport, Ministry of Finance, Commerce Ministry, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Environment & Forest, Niti Aayog amongst others) 2. To have connects with relevant ministry officials & build relationship in keeping with our interest, and position SAVW representatives effectively. 3. Steering the advocacy and follow up on matters for approvals & permissions at different ministries and bureaucratic level. 4. Tracking Developments in Government policy & contribute to formulation of Strategy relating to Government Policy & Regulations B) Issues based engagement with Key Stakeholders in Trade Bodies & Industry Associations - 1. Support to leverage key industry associations and Think Tanks by - building strong relationships with Senior Executives of these organizations, familiarity with the Domestic Industry ecosystem. 2. Participating in the deliberation of the relevant committees and representing the organization perspective effectively. 3. To position the Group as an active partner, table issues, build a position for policies in our interest, link policy initiatives to our interest & influence outcomes on relevant issues/ policies 4. Support Volkswagen Leadership who hold posts in these forums/platforms C) Internal Stakeholder Management : 1. Coordinating with various brands of the VW Group to facilitate smooth operations & assist them in compiling with regulations and processes applicable in India and getting the required clearance from various authorities 2. To drive internal engagement & communication with different departments in the organization that may be impacted, support these departments to navigate outcomes. Assisting the various departments in resolving issues related to Government regulations & policy. 3. Keeping Top Management informed about critical socio-political and economic development & policy changes to provide and receive inputs to formulate appropriate strategy D) Networking with Peers in the industry & competitive intelligence gathering: 1. Build engagement with Key Stakeholders E) Assisting the various departments in resolving issues related to Government Regulations & policies 1. Liaison with Central Authorities, stakeholder engagement, represent company before external authorities like Industry & Trade Associations, Civil Society Forums & steer business Advocacy etc. F) Building & maintaining cordial relationships with Embassies, International Trade Bodies & associations like the German Embassy, the European Union Delegation, IGCC, EBG & others for Policy advocacy.
