Role Overview
The Project Manager will be accountable for end-to-end ownership of client delivery and internal programs on the organizations in-house Learning Management System (LMS), primarily built on Open edX.
This is a senior, management-focused role combining delivery leadership, stakeholder governance, financial accountability, and operational excellence.
The role requires acting as the single point of accountability for project successbalancing client expectations, business objectives, delivery execution, and team performance.
The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams across engineering, product, sales, finance, and leadership to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery and sustained client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Stakeholder Leadership
- Serve as the primary owner and escalation point for enterprise B2B clients across the full project lifecyclefrom onboarding through go-live and post-production stabilization
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with client stakeholders including CXOs, business leaders, IT heads, and program sponsors
- Lead executive governance forums including steering committee meetings, QBRs, project reviews, and decision workshops
- Set clear delivery expectations by defining scope, timelines, success metrics, assumptions, and dependencies
- Drive structured discovery and requirements workshops; translate business goals into actionable delivery plans
- Own scope control, change management, effort estimation, and impact assessments in collaboration with business and finance teams
- Manage complex client conversations around risks, delays, trade-offs, and commercial implications with confidence and transparency
Program & Delivery Management
- Own end-to-end delivery governance for multiple concurrent LMS and Open edX implementations and internal initiatives
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering milestones, sprints, resource plans, dependencies, risk registers, and communication frameworks
- Ensure delivery commitments are met across scope, timeline, cost, and quality benchmarks
- Track project financials including budgets, burn rates, utilization, revenue recognition, and delivery margins
- Proactively identify delivery risks across people, process, and technology; drive mitigation and contingency plans
- Ensure compliance with internal delivery standards, SLAs, and quality assurance frameworks
- Drive structured project closure, handover, and post-implementation reviews
Cross-Functional Leadership & Governance
- Provide strong delivery leadership to engineering teams, ensuring alignment on estimates, capacity, and execution priorities
- Partner with product leadership to align client requirements with product roadmap, platform strategy, and long-term scalability
- Support sales and pre-sales teams through solution scoping, delivery planning, pricing inputs, and client presentations
- Coordinate with finance, legal, and operations teams on SOWs, contracts, billing milestones, and commercials
- Act as the central orchestration layer, removing blockers and ensuring accountability across all contributing teams
Agile & Execution Oversight
- Drive Agile or hybrid delivery models with a focus on predictability, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Facilitate key delivery ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning
- Monitor delivery health using metrics such as velocity, capacity utilization, burn-down, and delivery predictability
- Coach teams and stakeholders on agile discipline, delivery maturity, and outcome-focused execution
Reporting, Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Own all project reporting for internal leadership and clients, including delivery status, financials, risks, and dependencies
- Track KPIs related to on-time delivery, budget adherence, quality, client satisfaction, and team productivity
- Maintain comprehensive project artifacts including BRDs, FRDs, delivery plans, risk logs, and change registers
- Capture lessons learned and drive improvements to delivery processes, templates, and governance models
- Contribute to building scalable delivery frameworks and best practices across the organization
Required Qualifications:
Experience
- 5+ years of project or program management experience in technology, SaaS, or software delivery environments
- Proven success managing complex, client-facing enterprise projects with high accountability
- Strong experience working with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives in fast-paced environments
- Experience leading distributed or cross-functional teams
Core Management & Leadership Skills
- Strong command of SDLC, delivery governance, and project financial management
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum and hybrid delivery models
- Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
- Strong decision-making, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities
- High ownership mindset with the ability to operate under ambiguity and pressure
Education
- Master's degree in Business Administration, or related field
