Role Overview:

- Site buyer Indirect + Capex (SIB) is responsible for managing Procurement activities related to Maintenance, Repair & Operations materials and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects across the manufacturing site.

- The role ensures uninterrupted Plant operations through timely Sourcing of Maintenance spares, Equipment, Engineering goods, and minor Capital assets while delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and compliance with Procurement standards.

- The incumbent will work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, EHS, Finance, and Project teams to support Operational excellence, Plant reliability, and strategic investment initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

MRO Procurement Management:

- Manage procurement of MRO materials, spare parts, consumables, tools, maintenance services, and technical equipment.

- Ensure timely availability of critical maintenance and operational materials to support plant uptime.

- Develop Sourcing strategies for recurring maintenance requirements.

- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with stores teams to optimize stock availability.

- Drive standardization and rationalization of MRO suppliers and materials.

CAPEX Procurement Management:

- Lead procurement activities for automation, and minor infrastructure projects in association with central team.

- Support preparation of Procurement plans for minor CAPEX projects.

- Source machinery, equipment, engineering goods/spares, installation services, and project-related materials.

- Conduct techno-commercial evaluations and supplier assessments.

- Negotiate pricing, warranties, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements.

Sourcing & Supplier Management:

- Conduct RFQs, tendering processes, bid analysis, and supplier selection.

- Monitor Supplier performance through delivery, quality, service, and cost KPIs.

Cost Optimization & Commercial Excellence:

- Deliver annual Procurement savings and productivity targets.

- Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles during sourcing decisions.

- Negotiate commercial agreements that maximize value and mitigate risks.

Stakeholder Management:

- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Operations, Finance, and EHS teams.

- Act as a Procurement business partner for site functions.

- Ensure alignment of Procurement activities with Plant operational and project objectives.

Compliance Management:

- Ensure Procurement processes comply with policies and regulatory requirements.

- Maintain accurate documentation and support internal and external audits.

- Ensure adherence to governance, safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing standards.

Risk Management:

- Identify supply chain risks related to critical maintenance materials and project equipment.

- Monitor market trends impacting material availability and pricing.

- Support mitigation plans for supplier and operational risks.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.

- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations, or Finance preferred.

Experience:

- Min 5+ years of Procurement experience in Manufacturing environments.

- Strong experience handling MRO purchasing and spare parts Procurement.

- Experience in CAPEX sourcing, project procurement, and engineering equipment acquisition.

- Exposure to industries such as Refractories, Steel, Cement, Chemicals, Metals, Automotive, or Industrial Manufacturing preferred.

- Strong record of Supplier management, Contract negotiations, and Cost-saving delivery.

- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent platforms.
