Role Purpose

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant with 5-6 years of business finance experience to partner closely with portfolio and practice leadership on budgeting, revenue and margin management, and monthly financial reporting. This is a high-visibility role that combines financial rigor with day-to-day business partnering, and offers direct exposure to portfolio owners, practice leads, and senior finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting, Forecasting & Margin Management

- Lead preparation of annual and quarterly rolling budgets, including revenue, capacity, and net margin targets across assigned portfolios/practices.

- Review cost and revenue projections, labour margin, and account-level profitability; identify inefficiencies and margin drag, and work with stakeholders to correct them.

- Support finalization of key investment asks, ensuring they are evaluated within the approved cost and revenue envelope.

- Build and maintain margin scorecards and business cases for margin exceptions requiring Finance approval.

MIS, Reporting & Financial Planning

- Own preparation of monthly financials and management commentary, ensuring revenue and cost are accounted for accurately and on time.

- Prepare and present budget status updates and variance analysis to portfolio owners, practice leads, and leadership.

- Track and report on DSO, blocked resources, and other portfolio-level financial health metrics.

- Ensure compliance of time-tracking and revenue recognition processes with internal standards.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

- Act as the primary Finance point of contact for assigned portfolio owners and practice leads, providing data-backed recommendations on pricing, resourcing, and profitability.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with revenue operations, controllership, and delivery teams to resolve billing, margin, and revenue attribution issues.

- Support client-level commercial discussions, including margin compression scenarios and billing adjustments.

Process & Governance

- Drive standardization of finance processes, SOPs, and templates across portfolios/practices.

- Independently handle revenue audits and support internal control and risk-mitigation activities.

- Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting workflows.

Technical Skills & Competencies

- Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.

- Solid understanding of revenue recognition, financial accounting, and audit/internal control practices.

- Working knowledge of PowerPoint-based management reporting; exposure to ERP/NetSuite or similar systems is a plus.

Behavioural Skills & Competencies

- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence portfolio and practice leadership with data-backed reasoning.

- Precise, detail-oriented, and comfortable pushing back with evidence when numbers don't add up.

- Ability to manage multiple portfolios/practices simultaneously and work to tight monthly/quarterly closing timelines.

- Clear, direct written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.

Qualification & Experience

- Chartered Accountant (CA) - mandatory.

- 5-6 years of post-qualification experience in business finance, FP&A, or client financial management, preferably within IT/ITES, consulting, or professional services.

- Prior experience owning budget cycles, monthly MIS, or margin/profitability analysis for a business unit or account portfolio is strongly preferred.
