Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced VP Project Financing to lead the organizations project financing, financial structuring, fundraising, and lender management activities. The role will be responsible for developing and executing financing strategies for large-scale projects, evaluating project viability, raising debt and structured finance, and driving transactions through to successful financial closure.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in project finance, debt raising, financial modelling, transaction structuring, lender/investor management, and financial risk assessment, with a proven ability to manage complex financing transactions independently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the overall project financing strategy for new and ongoing projects.

- Assess project funding requirements and develop appropriate capital and financing structures.

- Lead debt raising, structured financing, refinancing, and other funding initiatives.

- Develop and review detailed project finance models covering project cash flows, revenue projections, profitability, debt servicing, IRR, NPV, DSCR, and sensitivity analysis.

- Evaluate project feasibility, financial viability, funding requirements, and associated financial risks.

- Manage the complete financing lifecycle, from initial funding assessment through due diligence, negotiations, documentation, and financial closure.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, private equity funds, investors, and other financing partners.

- Lead negotiations with lenders and financial institutions on interest rates, repayment structures, security packages, covenants, guarantees, DSRA, moratoriums, and other financing terms.

- Prepare financing proposals, lender presentations, information memorandums, financial models, and investment materials.

- Coordinate financial, legal, technical, tax, and commercial due diligence processes with internal and external stakeholders.

- Work closely with project development, commercial, legal, treasury, accounting, and business teams to structure optimal financing solutions.

- Monitor project cash flows, financial performance, debt servicing, and compliance with financing covenants.

- Identify opportunities for refinancing, restructuring, cost optimization, and additional funding.

- Evaluate and mitigate financial, commercial, execution, and market risks associated with projects.

- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management on project economics, capital allocation, funding strategy, and investment decisions.

- Lead and mentor the project finance team and establish effective processes for financing and financial risk management.

- Maintain strong relationships with existing lenders and develop new funding sources to support business growth.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in Project Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Real Estate Finance, or a related field.

- Proven experience in managing large-scale project financing transactions from structuring to financial closure.

- Strong expertise in debt financing, structured finance, fundraising, refinancing, and financial modelling.

- Advanced understanding of project finance metrics including IRR, NPV, DSCR, debt sizing, cash-flow waterfalls, sensitivity analysis, and financial feasibility.

- Strong experience negotiating financing terms with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, investors, and other lenders.

- Experience managing financial due diligence and lender/investor requirements.

- Strong understanding of loan documentation, security structures, financial covenants, guarantees, and lender conditions.

- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial modelling.

- Strong analytical, commercial, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and financing transactions simultaneously.
