These centres enable the delivery of common business operations and services for Shell, at world-class operational excellence.  Management Information, Planning and Analysis (MIPA) is one of the finance processes dealing in Management Internal Reporting, Variance Analysis, Decision Support, Budgeting & Planning support to Shell- s businesses and functions.  The role in Reporting & Analysis is focused to effectively lead and deliver right (bottom-line) impact to the businesses. This Business Finance Analyst will be part of Finance supporting one of the businesses/processes.  This role will support both the businesses/processes within a country/region/global and contribute to their Strategy, Profitability and Cost effectiveness. The support will cover areas of month close, accruals, Business/Process performance appraisals, Latest estimates, Financial analysis, business commentaries, decision support and MI delivery.  ACCOUNTABILITIES  The accountabilities may vary from business to business or processes and also depending upon roles. However, the generic accountabilities would cover:  - Demonstrating a complete understanding of e2e business value chain process and how it flows through various ERPs and other accounting/reporting systems.  - Supporting in the ongoing R&A change, on the process transitions, handovers within tight timelines  - Driving ESSA (Elimination, Simplification, Standardization, and Automation) and other continuous improvement initiatives across the process organization to drive for leaner and effective processes.   - Supporting the development of ways of working in the new organization.  - Liaise closely with the business for that purpose. Supporting migration of new activities and implementation of a new reporting system.  - Act as a Super-user supporting implementation of new ERP/Business intelligence tools in Global Functions.  - Manage relevant stakeholders in Business, FIB, Controllers, Finance Operations, Group reporting,   - Individual contributor - Be self-starter & proactive.  ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES   - The role is integral to helping manage the entity's financial and business operations, risk management (financial, legal and tax) requiring Financial/Accounting and system expertise  - The role provides proactive advice and service requiring analysis/independent judgment/local knowledge.   - The role has significant impact and is both strategic and operational.  - Ensure timely and correct reporting of legal entity financial results/statutory accounts, including unusual or material accounting items.  - Provide accounting support as required, such as Controllers Functional Support to GIPs and PCNs, or in support of portfolio activity.  - Act as interface with external auditors and Local Statutory Reporting teams and ensure timely resolution of escalated audit queries.  - Ensure integrity of accounts and provide financial oversight and guidance. Establish and monitor policy / procedures in line with Group Account policies and other relevant accounting standards.  - Maximize recoveries, improve cost management and optimization of capital employed.   - Play an active role in supporting latest estimate and business planning processes specifically with respect to tariff setting and recovery analysis  - Protect assets though Safe guard asset accounting (Capital Accounting and Reporting)  - Work in close cooperation with IGB, FiB, Tax, Legal and the Global cost recovery team. Make sure that services are provided at cost and work with external auditors, LSR & R&A teams to provide at cost certificates when required.  - Communicate with stakeholders including the legal entity directors on matters such as Financial Management Information on the Legal Entities.  - Provide clear analyses of results and advise on corrective actions.  - Ensure compliance with Local Direct and Indirect tax and work with the appropriate GRA teams to ensure fit for purpose risk based financial controls based on the Shell control frame work exists and is operating effectively for the Legal Entity.  - Ensure OU insurance coverage and adherence to group policy on insurance, in collaboration with Risk & Insurance.   - Monitor cashflow requirements for the Legal Entities and optimize with Treasury the funding of the legal entities
