About SCI Team :&nbsp; - The Strategy Consultancy Insights (SCI) team is part of the Group Strategy Consultancy &amp; Portfolio team which directly reports to the Shell CEO.&nbsp; - The core purpose of SCI is to provide credible and actionable insights, enabling strategy development and critical decisions. The IOC/NOC team within SCI is accountable is engaged in projects involving in-depth strategic and competitive analysis of various International Oil Companies / National Oil Companies (IOC / NOC) in Upstream/Downstream/Integrated Gas space. The team produces business insights, - so what and recommendations for Shell. Key clients / target audience for such projects are Line of Business (LoB) Leadership, Strategy Advisors, Competitive Intelligence community, Group Strategy Consultancy and Group Competitive Intelligence. Job Purpose :&nbsp; - IOC / NOC Downstream CI Lead will be the account manager for Downstream Competitive Intelligence and Oil Markets Analysis Team, to deliver a suite of on-demand and recurring products that deliver insights to understand and enhance Shell Downstream competitiveness vs. IOC, NOC and other competitors. - The deep dive studies are commissioned directly by Downstream Leadership Team (DLT) or other business LTs (such as Retail or Global Commercial), and require highly detailed analysis of competitor actions and deliver implications and actionable insights for Shell. The recurring products (delivered with support from Strategic Trends Team) serve a wide set of audience (such as trading and pricing teams) by providing them with an up to date view of developments in areas of competitor moves, financial performance, macro-economic trends, geo-politics, product margin evolution etc. Principal Accountabilities: - Is accountable for Downstream Competitive Intelligence and Oil Markets Analysis Team, involving two key components:- Own Delivery: Take end to end ownership and accountability of specific competitive intelligence products / projects, and deliver through information gathering, analysis, synthesis and report out. Alternately, for large scale and complex deep dives (spanning 8-12 weeks), own specific workstreams, while working as part of a larger 3-5 member team - Co-ordinate with SCI teams: Several of the products are recurring in nature, and need to be delivered with significant inputs from other SCI teams. The incumbent still has the end delivery accountability of such products, and co-ordinates with other teams to get the required inputs, and does the required quality assurance and further processing to deliver end product - Is accountable for driving integration of information / viewpoints with several groups:- Strategy Consultancy: Interfaces with Strategy Consultancy team, and if required, with Consulting Managers / Strategy Consultants on Downstream Projects to receive / provide inputs in case of common scope of projects. - SCI NTR Leads and Advisors: Interfaces with NTR Leads and Advisors in SCI teams to leverage their expertise and obtain inputs on macro-economic and geo-political trends relevant for the downstream CI products - SCI IOC / NOC Upstream and IG CI Leads / Advisors: Ensures that for NOCs and IOCs being covered by the team, integrated viewpoint across value chain is developed (e.g. identifying implications on upstream portfolio moves on downstream competitiveness in specific geographies) - Brings own strong subject matter expertise in one or more areas of downstream areas - manufacturing, retail, lubricants, and has a good working level knowledge of other areas business - Leads end to end delivery of projects - scoping, planning, day to day analysis, coordinating efforts of members across teams, client interface, conducting own analysis and report out - Supports junior team members by providing guidance for day to day project delivery and coaching on subject matter or functional skills - Builds own network in Shell and with external service providers, to identify synergies, obtain / validate required data and viewpoints, and socialize findings to all relevant audience - Demonstrates and promotes top quartile project delivery by strict adherence to quality framework and provide inputs for enhancing the framework Education and Experience :&nbsp; - Commercial / Technical degree; MBA would be an advantage, but a sound industry experience can compensate for not having an MBA - Typically 7+ years of professional experience in Oil &amp; Gas related industries/ Oil &amp; Gas related research / consulting. Exposure to a downstream business through commercial / research / consulting role will be a significant advantage Skills required :&nbsp; - Market research, financial analysis - Project delivery skills involving planning own work, delivering hands-on and coordinating with a wide set of teams - Awareness on key trends and geopolitics in Oil &amp; Gas space - Ability to gather and analyze complex data resulting in synthesis and insights - Direct exposure to O&amp;G business, wider affinity with energy policies/regulatory aspects and working knowledge of financial statements would be a plus Leadership attributes: - High motivation levels and sense of accountability to deliver assigned components of work without close day to day supervision. Flexibility to take feedback and guidance from senior team members and stakeholders - Good communication skills and credibility enabling person to convey complex issues and concepts in a clear and concise manner - Stakeholder Management involving client engagement on scoping, day-to-day working, reviewing quality and resolving issues - People skills related to working with a diverse, global and multicultural set of team members - Ability to handle ambiguity and remaining structured
