Roles & Responsibilities - General Manager

1. Sales & Business Growth

- Drive sales targets, revenue growth, and market share for the Industrial Paints division.

- Develop and execute strategic sales plans in alignment with company goals.

- Identify new business opportunities in OEMs, PEB, fabrication units, engineering industries, heavy machinery, and industrial contractors.

- Monitor monthly/quarterly sales forecasts and ensure achievement of budgets.

2. Market Expansion & Key Account Management

- Build strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, OEM customers, and project clients.

- Develop and implement strategies for territory expansion across regions.

- Conduct competitor analysis and ensure timely counter-strategies.

- Lead large project negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract closures.

3. Operations & Supply Chain Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, R&D, SCM, and Quality teams to ensure timely supply of materials.

- Oversee order planning, inventory management, and dispatch timelines.

- Resolve customer complaints in coordination with the technical service and QC teams.

4. Team Leadership & Performance Management

- Lead, mentor, and motivate Regional Managers, Sales Managers, Officers, and Technical Service Executives.

- Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and ensure capability development of the sales team.

- Drive a culture of discipline, accountability, and high productivity.

5. Pricing, Margin & Cost Control

- Manage pricing strategy while ensuring target margins and profitability.

- Review commercial terms, credit limits, and payment collection.

- Control overheads, discounts, and ensure adherence to company policies.

6. Product Portfolio & Technical Collaboration

- Work closely with R&D for product development, customization, and improvement.

- Ensure the sales team is updated with product training and technical know-how.

- Promote new product launches, speciality coatings, and performance-based solutions.

7. Customer Relationship & Service Excellence

- Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.

- Review customer feedback and ensure high customer satisfaction.

- Resolve escalations related to product performance or service issues.

8. Strategy, Reporting & Compliance

- Prepare MIS reports, sales analytics, business reviews, and action plans.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety norms, and statutory requirements.

- Analyze trends, risks, and business challenges; recommend corrective actions.

9. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Collaborate with finance, logistics, HR, and marketing for business support.

- Align organizational goals, KPIs, and improvement initiatives with the management.

10. P&L Ownership

Take complete responsibility for the P&L of the Industrial Paints division.

- Ensure profit growth through effective cost management and revenue enhancement.

- Present quarterly performance reviews and strategic plans to senior management.
