The Global Supply Organization is a multi-continental Function that comprises of the entire Value Chain from product conceptualization to delivery to the commercial front. Within the Global Supply Organization are included; Research & Development, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain Management and Logistics.

Role: Global Head - Supply Chain

Base location: Pawane, Navi Mumbai, India

Reporting To: Chief Technical Officer, Global Supply Organization

Role Purpose:

The Global Head - Supply Chain provides strategic and operational leadership to Shalina's global supply chain function, spanning Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Distribution, and Logistics & Shipping.

This role is responsible for designing and executing an integrated supply chain strategy that ensures reliable product availability, optimized inventory, efficient working capital management, and cost-effective logistics, in support of Shalina's business goals across African markets.

The incumbent will lead a geographically dispersed team, build robust governance and planning frameworks, and ensure collaboration across Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Commercial organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership:

- Set and execute the global supply chain strategy aligned to Shalina's growth objectives.

- Integrate demand, supply, logistics, and distribution into a synchronized operating model that ensures reliability and agility.

- Partner with GSO and Country Leadership to align supply capabilities with commercial plans, new launches, and expansion.

Demand & Supply Planning:

- Oversee global demand planning across African markets and ensure alignment with business forecasts.

- Lead supply planning across in-house and loan-licensed manufacturing to ensure timely product availability.

- Balance availability, capacity, and working capital through effective planning frameworks; drive adoption of planning systems and analytics.

Inventory & Working Capital Management:

- Define stocking norms and replenishment frameworks for all markets.

- Optimize inventory across the value chain to reduce expiry risk and working capital lock-in.

- Monitor inventory turns, days of stock, and cash-to-cash cycle; align plans with commercial and financial targets.

Logistics, Freight & Distribution:

- Lead global logistics operations including international freight, customs, and country-level distribution.

- Improve service levels, lead times, and freight efficiency through network optimization.

- Standardize depot operations and replenishment; ensure full regulatory and QA compliance.

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement:

- Establish supply chain KPIs and governance through dashboards and structured review mechanisms.

- Drive process standardization, automation, and cost-efficiency initiatives.

- Implement risk management frameworks to ensure supply continuity and resilience.

Leadership & Team Development:

- Lead and develop a high-performing global supply chain team.

- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Build capability in planning systems, analytics, and operational excellence.

Digital Transformation of the Supply Chain:

- Lead digital transformation through advanced planning platforms, AI/ML forecasting, control-tower visibility, and track-and-trace capabilities.

- Strengthen system discipline, data governance, and analytics maturity across the supply chain.

- Build a digitally enabled organization capable of scaling with Shalina's growth.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration.

- Post Graduate Studies (PGP/MBA/PGDM) or relevant professional certification (e.g., APICS, CSCP) preferred.

Experience:


- Minimum 18-20 years of progressive experience in end-to-end supply chain management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or FMCG industries.

- Proven leadership experience managing multi-site, multi-country supply networks.

- Demonstrated success in inventory optimization, working capital management, and freight cost control.

- Strong understanding of supply planning, logistics, and distribution operations in emerging or African markets.

Skills & Attributes:

- Strategic systems thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- High commercial acumen; ability to translate operational drivers into financial outcomes.

- Proficiency in ERP and planning systems (SAP, OMP, or equivalent) and advanced analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills across global teams.

- Leadership presence with a track record of building and developing strong, execution-focused teams.

Work Environment

This position is based at the Global Supply Organization office in Navi Mumbai. The role will require travel to manufacturing sites, logistics partners, and African markets about 20% of the time.
