Job Title: Director - Operations Location: Bangalore, India Experience: 8+ Years Function: Operations | Business Growth | Program Management Role Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Director - Operations to lead and drive high-impact operational initiatives from our Bangalore office. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of core operations, business growth, network planning, and program management. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset combined with execution excellence, especially in scaling operations, leading mid-mile network design, and managing complex business environments. This is a senior leadership role, suited for someone who has scaled large businesses, built sustainable and tech-led operations, and comes with a pedigree from a premier institute. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Growth: - Lead and own the expansion and scaling of new business operations across geographies. - Design and implement growth strategies to support both short-term goals and long-term vision. - Develop operating models that align with evolving customer demands and business goals. Core Operations Management: - Drive excellence in core operations, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and consistency across all operational touchpoints. - Create robust governance frameworks to track KPIs and operational performance. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational agility. Mid-Mile Network Design & Planning: - Lead the design and planning of mid-mile logistics networks including hub strategy, route planning, cost optimization, and capacity forecasting. - Collaborate with central planning, tech, and product teams to build intelligent and scalable network models. - Implement tools and frameworks to support data-led decision-making. Program Management & Execution: - Spearhead cross-functional programs that drive transformation across the operations value chain. - Lead new initiative launches from concept to scale, including pilot design, rollout strategy, and performance tracking. - Solve high-impact, ambiguous problems by deploying programmatic approaches and execution frameworks. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management: - Build and mentor a high-performing regional operations and planning team. - Influence and engage with senior stakeholders across business, product, tech, and supply chain. - Manage vendor relationships and drive performance alignment with external partners and 3PLs. Ideal Candidate Profile: - 8+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or business scaling roles, with at least 3+ years in leadership capacity. - Strong exposure to mid-mile logistics, network design, and core operational management. - Demonstrated success in program management and running large cross-functional initiatives. - Experience in scaling new businesses and operations in fast-paced environments (e.g., e-commerce, logistics, retail-tech). Strong pedigree: - Graduate from a Tier 1 institution (IIT, IIM, ISB, NIT, etc.). - Data-oriented with an analytical mindset and experience working with BI/Analytics tools.
