Importance of the role:

At Setu, we believe that every company can become a fintech company. Any tech-enabled business which wants to offer or build financial products will consume Setu APIs.

The business finance function within Setu is equivalent to the spinal cord of a body and without us, businesses cant operate their day-to-day operations. The management relies on the function of steering the strategic direction of the company.

Our clients are very challenging as they can come from any type of company including. Financial institutions like Banks and NBFCs. Fintechs who are new-age digital lenders and micro-insurance companies, and.

Pretty much every other type of tech company ranging from agri-tech companies to apartment aggregators, from ed-tech startups to last-mile logistics. This role is special since it will give you a deep look into the business objectives not only of SETU but many other multiple companies. The learning potential is immense!

What will you do at Setu?:

As a Manager Business Finance, you will handle activities with respect to revenue assurance, business partnership, financial planning and analysis, and management reporting.

Business Partnership:

- Act as the strategic finance partner to business leaders, providing insights that influence commercial decisions and drive revenue and margin growth.

- Lead evaluation of supplyand demand-side partnerships, including review of agreements and commercial viability.

- Own product and partner pricing strategies, including periodic review and governance of pricing charters.

- Guide business teams in structuring and negotiating high-value commercial arrangements with supply partners.

- Drive pricing strategy for new products and support BD teams in shaping winning bids for large enterprise deals.

- Build scalable pricing models, frameworks, and selling strategies to enable growth and profitability.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Lead the design, execution, and monitoring of the Annual Operating Plan in partnership with the leadership team.

- Publish monthly financial and operating performance insights through MIS, variance analyses, and business deep-dives.

- Track actuals vs budget, highlight risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions to leadership.

- Oversee cost governance across functionsmonitoring infra, SaaS, consulting, and other key cost linesand flagging anomalies proactively.

- Partner closely with Engineering, People Ops, and other enabling teams to optimise spends and strengthen unit economics.

- Develop analytical frameworks and forecasting models that support strategic and operational decision-making.

Management Reporting:

- Own end-to-end management reporting, ensuring timely, accurate, and actionable reporting for leadership.

- Prepare and refine MIS dashboards, cashflow reports, burn analyses, and scenario-based financial models.

- Lead preparation for monthly, quarterly, and board-level performance reviews and business updates.

- Conduct benchmarking, competitive landscape analysis, and industry deep-dives to support strategic planning.

- Strengthen internal reporting cadences and automate recurring reporting processes for scale and reliability.

Who is the right fit for this role?:

- Chartered Accountant with 5-7 years of post qualification experience in Business Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, or Strategic Finance roles within fintech, SaaS, banking, or other high-growth environments.

- Strong ability to partner with senior business leaders and influence decisions through a mix of data, financial insights, and commercial understanding.

- Deep expertise in financial modelling, pricing strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

- Strong command over cost governance, unit economics, and drivers of profitability in a tech-led business.

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to convert complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

- High ownership, structured thinking, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with comfort working cross-functionally across Business, Engineering, Ops, and Leadership.
