Plant Manager (8-12 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Strategy:- Develop and implement innovative operational strategies to streamline factory operations and improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production, logistics, and plant operations.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Materials & Inventory Management:- Oversee receiving, segregation, inspection, and storage of raw materials and consumables.
- Ensure effective inventory planning and control to minimize wastage, shortages, and excess stock.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for material availability and optimization.
Production & Workforce Management:- Lead production planning and scheduling to meet business demand and delivery timelines.
- Manage shop-floor operations and labour planning, including shift management and productivity tracking.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and infrastructure.
Dispatch & Logistics:- Oversee dispatch of finished goods, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to committed delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with logistics and sales teams for smooth outbound operations.
Costing & Budgeting:- Prepare and manage production budgets, cost controls, and variance analysis.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.
- Monitor plant KPIs related to cost, productivity, efficiency, and output.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management:- Lead, mentor, and develop plant teams, including supervisors, engineers, and labour workforce.
- Maintain effective coordination with internal stakeholders such as quality, maintenance, procurement, and finance teams.
- Report plant performance, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
Required Candidate Profile:Experience:- 8+ years of experience managing operations in a manufacturing / production environment.
- Proven experience as Plant Head / Factory Head / Operations Head or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong exposure to managing large teams and shop-floor labour.
Skills & Competencies:- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, and inventory management.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of costing, budgeting, and operational KPIs.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive operational excellence.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Education:- Bachelors degree in Engineering / Production / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
