Senior Vice President - Research - Banking Sector

Role Overview:

As the SVP - Research (Banking), The role holder will be responsible for overseeing research activities across equity domains to improve portfolio performance, maintaining models, sectorial trackers, etc.

The incumbent will be responsible for tracking the portfolio performance across, benchmarking it against the market and industry performance and suggesting remedial actions.

Managerial Responsibility:

- Managing a team of research analysts which should be proactive

- Recruitment of professionals in investment team

- Managing performance of team members; counselling & coaching team members from time to time to improve their performance

- Team engagement & retention of talent

Functional Responsibility:

Research:

- Conducting research across different asset classes to understand trends in market and provide necessary inputs for alignment of investment portfolio.

- Maintain models, prepare pre and post quarterlies analysis, create and monitor sectoral trackers.

Benchmark Management:

- Measuring the performance of research model portfolios focusing on improvement to remain ahead of benchmarks and peers

- Measuring ULIP fund performance against the market benchmarks in the category of identified ratios

- Monitoring the Return on Investment for non-linked portfolios

- Provide relevant insights and accurate data to Management on regular basis, Good Governance

- Adhering to monthly compliance of marketing team education

Qualification & Experience:

Qualifications: Graduation or Post Graduation from a reputed university. CA / CFA is a must

Experience:

- 15+ years of experience in equity research covering 30% to 50% of NIFTY sectors preferably Banking, with a minimum of 5 years at a leadership/ functional level

- Understanding of products, regulations, etc. across departments

- Experience in a regulated industry preferably from AMC / insurance or financial services Products

- Model Portfolio: Large and Mid-Cap that beats the respective benchmark

- Providing tactical calls

- Write up for Monthly Outlook

- Presentation - ISC, IC, Board and Marketing

- Annual Report analysis. ESG analysis
