Job Objective:

We are seeking an AI-savvy, hands-on technology leader who can set the technology direction and drive disciplined execution for BUSY's SaaS platform. The role owns technology strategy, architecture, engineering execution, and the technical evolution of the product platform, translating business strategy into a scalable technology roadmap.

This is a builder's role with end-to-end ownership of product engineering, architecture, delivery, reliability, and modernization. The leader will be expected to remain technically current and provide practical direction across cloud-native SaaS, microservices, modern engineering practices, AI-assisted development, and New Technology Stack (NTS) adoption.

The role requires close collaboration with the CEO, Product, and Business leadership while creating a high-accountability engineering culture focused on scalable architecture, predictable delivery, engineering quality, security, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibility:

- Own engineering delivery across the complete product lifecycle - from technology strategy and architecture through development, testing, release, production, and continuous improvement.

- Define and evolve the technology roadmap for BUSY's SaaS platform in alignment with product and business priorities, balancing modernization, scalability, reliability, security, performance, and speed-to-market.

- Establish and govern technology standards across architecture, APIs, data, databases, security, observability, engineering practices, and multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure.

- Drive adoption and hands-on application of New Technology Stack (NTS) capabilities, ensuring technology choices are pragmatic, scalable, maintainable, and aligned to the product roadmap.

- Lead the design and evolution of microservices-based architecture, including service boundaries, API design, integration patterns, resilience, observability, data ownership, and deployment models.

- Own SaaS platform architecture and engineering practices across AWS and Azure cloud environments, including cloud-native services, security, availability, performance, scalability, cost awareness, and operational readiness.

- Set engineering standards for DevOps, CI/CD, version control, automated build/test/release pipelines, containerization, environment management, configuration management, and associated cloud-native technologies appropriate to the technology stack.

- Drive AI-native engineering practices and create a culture where AI tools are a standard part of software development, improving engineering productivity, quality, and speed rather than being treated as an experiment.

- Lead a high-quality engineering organization of approximately 150 people with clear ownership, strong technical leadership, disciplined execution, and accountability for commitments and timelines.

- Strengthen engineering governance through architecture reviews, coding standards, clean coding practices, peer reviews, test automation, release governance, production readiness, incident learning, technical debt management, and measurable engineering metrics.

- Partner closely with Product and Business leadership to translate customer and market needs into technology capabilities, platform priorities, sequencing decisions, and executable engineering plans.

- Build and develop senior engineering leaders and architects, strengthen succession and capability depth, and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, experimentation, documentation, and continuous learning.

Desired Qualifications:

- B.Tech / M.Tech or equivalent engineering qualification from IIT/NIT

- Strong hands-on understanding of modern AI/LLM technologies and AI-assisted software development practices.

- Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, APIs, databases, security, observability, and multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure.

- Hands-on experience with New Technology Stack (NTS) and the ability to evaluate, select, and guide adoption of modern technologies based on product, architecture, and cloud requirements.

- Strong architectural know-how in microservices-based systems, including API-first design, service decomposition, integration patterns, resilience, performance, and operational observability.

- Strong knowledge of SaaS architecture and delivery on AWS and Azure cloud environments.

- Strong know-how of DevOps, CI/CD, Git or equivalent version-control practices, containerization, build/release automation, and associated technologies relevant to the cloud environment and technology stack.

- Working knowledge of BUSY's current technology stack: Golang, React, React Native, PostgreSQL/MySQL, and MongoDB.

Desired Experience:

- 15+ years of overall technology and engineering experience, including 5+ years in core technical leadership roles in SaaS / cloud product engineering.

- Demonstrated experience owning technology strategy, architecture, product engineering, and delivery for business-critical software products at meaningful scale.

- Proven experience leading large engineering teams and senior technical leaders, with accountability for delivery timelines, engineering quality, and operational outcomes.

- Hands-on experience modernizing applications or platforms using cloud-native, microservices, containerized, and automated delivery approaches.

- Practical experience building or scaling SaaS platforms on AWS and/or Azure, preferably with exposure to multi-tenant architecture and production-grade cloud operations.

- Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Codex, and/or Cursor in the candidate's own engineering workflow, not merely through team-level evaluation.

- Experience establishing engineering disciplines around architecture governance, APIs, data, security, observability, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, reliability, and technical debt management.
