Role Summary
The VP Technology will serve as the technology leader and chief architect for the organizations ecommerce platforms. This role owns end-to-end technology strategy and execution, including product engineering, platform architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, QA, and AI initiatives.
The incumbent will enable hyper-scale growth, rapid innovation, and world-class engineering execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead platform engineering, product technology, infrastructure, DevOps, and QA teams.
- Define and execute the product and platform technology roadmap aligned to business growth.
- Architect and scale a secure, cloud-native, micro-services-based ecosystem.
- Ensure high standards of engineering excellence, performance, reliability, and security.
- Drive technology modernization and agility across multiple evolving tech stacks.
- Act as the strategic technology partner to the COO/CEO and leadership team.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Technology Leadership:
- Set the product & platform technology roadmap to support rapid delivery of features and scale to millions of users.
- Architect cloud-native, microservices-based systems with real-time inventory, order routing, geo-fencing, and logistics orchestration.
- Lead engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, QA, monitoring/SRE, and ensure operational excellence under peak loads.
AI & Data-First Innovation:
- Launch and scale AI/Data Science platforms for demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, personalization, logistics optimization, and fraud reduction.
- Drive adoption of ML-enabled decision systems akin to predictive inventory and delivery orchestration demands critical in quick commerce.
Hyper-Scaling:
- Scale platforms to industry-leading benchmarks in uptime, throughput, and user experience for quick commerce and delivery models.
Talent Leadership:
- Own technology hiring and succession planning; attract, retain, and develop top-tier engineering and AI talent.
Experience & Capabilities
- 15-20 years in technology leadership roles within ecommerce, consumer internet, or high-growth startups.
- Proven success in scaling platforms and teams in high-traffic environments.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, micro-services, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.
- Hands-on exposure to AI/ML, data platforms, and modern engineering practices.
- Track record of leading large, multi-disciplinary technology teams.
