
Senior Technical Project Manager - Supply Digital Technology

Job Purpose / Overview:
This role exists to provide senior technical project management leadership for the Mars Food & Nutrition Supply Digital Technology portfolio, ensuring critical Supply DT initiatives are delivered with quality, pace, strong governance and clear business value.
The role will drive the delivery of digital and technology projects across key Supply capabilities, including Thema / Supply Data Foundations, Planning capabilities such as Blue Yonder, and Smart Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 solutions.
The Senior Technical Project Manager will coordinate business, DT, data, architecture, security, vendor and delivery teams to move initiatives from concept through design, build, testing, deployment, transition and benefit realization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Supply Digital Technology projects across Food & Nutrition, covering data foundations, planning, manufacturing and analytics capabilities.
- Manage project delivery across the full lifecycle, including demand shaping, business case support, concept and initiation, design, build, test, deployment, hypercare, project closure and transition to support.
- Drive delivery of Supply DT initiatives such as Thema / Supply Data Foundations, Blue Yonder planning enhancements, and Smart Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 capabilities, ensuring each initiative has clear scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and success measures.
- Coordinate internal Mars teams, third-party vendors, system integrators, data partners and business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within agreed budget and to expected quality standards.
- Build and maintain integrated project plans, RAID logs, dependency maps, governance materials, financial tracking and status reporting for senior DT and business stakeholders.
- Translate business objectives and Supply pain points into actionable delivery plans, working closely with Supply leaders, Business Partners, Product Owners, Data teams, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, GDO and functional SMEs.
- Ensure technical delivery activities are aligned with Mars architecture, cybersecurity, data governance, integration, service introduction and operational support standards.
- Partner with Supply business stakeholders to support business readiness, UAT planning, deployment preparation, adoption tracking and post-go-live stabilization.
- Manage delivery risks and issues proactively, escalating where required and driving clear decisions through appropriate governance forums.
- Support vendor and partner management, including input to Statements of Work, delivery plans, resource models, deliverable acceptance and performance management.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, controlled and suitable for transition to support teams, including business process documentation, technical design artefacts, testing evidence, cutover plans and operational handover materials.
- Work with Finance and PMO stakeholders to support budget planning, capitalization requirements, cost tracking, forecast updates and benefits realization.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery ways of working, including stronger use of PMX, agile/hybrid delivery methods, lessons learned, reusable templates and project governance discipline.
- Build strong relationships across global and regional Supply teams to ensure delivery plans reflect business priorities, local deployment realities and global template requirements.
- Act as a senior delivery leader within the Supply DT team, providing coaching, structure and delivery discipline to project teams, vendors and junior project resources where required.
Education & Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or a related discipline.
- Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM or equivalent is preferred.
- Agile, Scrum, SAFe or hybrid delivery certification is desirable.
- Additional knowledge or certification in Supply Chain planning, data platforms, manufacturing systems or cloud/data technologies would be advantageous.
Knowledge / Experience:
- 7+ years' experience delivering technology projects, with significant experience in digital transformation, Supply Chain, manufacturing, planning, data or enterprise technology environments.
- Proven experience as a senior Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, Delivery Manager or equivalent role leading cross-functional technology delivery.
- Strong experience managing full project lifecycle delivery, including planning, governance, budget tracking, RAID management, stakeholder reporting, testing, deployment, hypercare and transition to support.
- Experience delivering projects involving complex stakeholder groups across business, DT, data, architecture, security, vendors and operations.
- Strong understanding of Supply Chain processes, ideally including planning, S&OP, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, data and analytics.
- Experience working with or around planning platforms such as Blue Yonder, SAP planning capabilities or equivalent enterprise Supply Chain systems.
- Experience with data and analytics delivery, including data platforms, dashboards, reporting solutions, data governance, data quality and Power BI or equivalent analytics tools.
- Experience delivering manufacturing, Smart Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, connected worker, factory data, automation or operational technology initiatives is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors, system integrators and delivery partners, including delivery governance, SoW input, milestone tracking and deliverable acceptance.
- Strong financial discipline, including budget tracking, forecasting, capitalization awareness and benefits realization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical delivery topics into clear business-facing updates and senior stakeholder messages.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, prioritization and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work globally across cultures, time zones and business functions.
