Position Title: SR Tax Accountant.
Location: Onsite (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, or alternative location).
Employment Type: Full-time.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM AEST.
Role Overview:
- We are seeking a dedicated Senior Tax Accountant to manage the end-to-end compliance and reporting needs for a diverse client base, including Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Sole Traders.
- This role requires a strong technical grasp of Australian accounting standards and taxation legislation.
- Beyond compliance, you will assist with month-end processes and provide tax planning advisory services to optimize client outcomes.
- You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy in financial statements, tax returns, and activity statements while staying ahead of legislative changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
- Exposure to Self Managed Super Fund financial statements and tax returns preferred.
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, ATO guidelines, and relevant accounting standards.
- Assistance with month-end and year-end accounting processes, including reconciliations and journal adjustments.
- Assistance with tax planning and advisory services to optimise tax outcomes and maintain compliance.
- Stay updated on changes to tax legislation, reporting requirements, and accounting standards.
- Experience with Xero or MYOB or Handiledge.

Technical Compliance & Reporting:
- Entity Management: Proven ability to prepare financial statements and tax returns for various entities (Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Sole Traders) in strict accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Activity Statements: Extensive experience in preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Accounting Processes: Proficiency in managing month-end and year-end accounting cycles, including complex bank reconciliations and general ledger journal adjustments.
Knowledge & Legislation:
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth technical knowledge of current Australian taxation legislation, ATO guidelines, and reporting requirements.
- Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated on the evolving tax landscape to ensure ongoing compliance and accuracy.
Systems & Software:
- Platform Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on experience with major accounting software suites, specifically Xero, MYOB, or HandiLedger.
Desirable/Preferred:
- SMSF Exposure: Experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns for Self Managed Super Funds (SMSF).
- Advisory Experience: A track record of identifying tax planning opportunities and providing value-add advisory services to clients.
