Senior Sourcing/Procurement Leader - Gemstone

Brief About the Client:

One of our clients, a well-established name in the fine jewellery and lifestyle space, is looking to strengthen its gemstone buying and procurement function with a senior sourcing/procurement leader.

Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end gemstone sourcing and procurement, from vendor identification to large-scale / bulk buying at optimal commercial terms.

- Build and manage a strong vendor and supplier network across key gemstone-sourcing markets, negotiating pricing and ensuring continuity of supply.

- Own quality control and authenticity assessment for all sourced gemstones, ensuring grading and QC standards are consistently met.

- Track market trends, pricing movements and competitor sourcing strategies to inform buying strategy and identify margin opportunities.

- Partner cross-functionally with design, merchandising and category teams as the subject-matter expert on gemstones.

- Mentor and upskill the existing procurement team, bringing greater structure and expertise to the function.

Qualifications:

- 15+ years of experience in coloured-gemstone sourcing, buying or trading, with proven experience purchasing at scale.

- Strong supplier and market relationships across key international gemstone-sourcing hubs.

- Excellent negotiation, commercial and analytical skills; ability to identify and capture margin opportunities.

- Deep expertise in gemstone grading, quality and authenticity assessment.

- Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor rather than in a conventional people-management structure.

- Frequent international travel readiness is essential
