
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior SAP MM Consultant with deep, hands-on expertise across the Procure-to-Pay (PTP) cycle to lead configuration, implementation, and support of SAP Materials Management processes. The ideal candidate will act as a functional SME, driving end-to-end PTP solutions, engaging directly with business stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end configuration and implementation of SAP MM/PTP processes: purchase requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoice verification, and vendor payment integration.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications, working closely with FI/CO, SD, and PP teams for cross-module integration.
- Design and configure procurement processes including source determination, vendor evaluation, release strategies (approval workflows), pricing procedures, and condition techniques.
- Handle special procurement processes: subcontracting, consignment, STO (Stock Transport Orders), third-party procurement, pipeline procurement, and service procurement (MM-SRV).
- Configure and manage inventory management processes: goods movements, physical inventory, stock transfers, batch management, and valuation.
- Lead invoice verification (MIRO) processes including GR/IR reconciliation, credit/debit memos, and integration with FI for AP postings.
- Lead SAP implementation/rollout projects (S/4HANA experience preferred) including blueprinting, realization, testing (SIT/UAT), cutover, and hypercare support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues (P1/P2) related to procure-to-pay processes.
- Write functional specifications for custom developments (reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms) and coordinate with ABAP developers.
- Conduct integration testing across MM-FI-SD-WM/EWM landscape.
- Mentor and guide junior consultants; review deliverables for quality and completeness.
- Interface directly with client stakeholders/business users, manage expectations, and present solution designs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on SAP MM experience, with strong exposure to the full Procure-to-Pay cycle.
- Minimum 2-3 full life-cycle SAP implementations (ECC and/or S/4HANA) plus support/rollout project experience.
- Strong configuration expertise: purchasing organization structure, release strategies, pricing procedures, account determination (OBYC), material master, and vendor master.
- Solid understanding of integration points with FI (AP, GR/IR clearing), SD (STO, intercompany), and WM/EWM (warehouse/logistics).
- Experience with S/4HANA MM (Fiori apps for procurement, Material Ledger, Central Procurement) strongly preferred.
- Exposure to Ariba/SAP procurement add-ons (SAP Ariba, SRM) is a plus.
- Exposure to LSMW/BDC/Data Migration tools for master data (material master, vendor master, source lists) is a plus.
- Ability to write and review functional specs (FS) for RICEFW objects.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- SAP MM certification is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred but not mandatory).
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a specific industry vertical (Manufacturing, Retail, CPG, Pharma, Oil & Gas, etc.) relevant to the hiring company.
- Exposure to SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, or GTS (Global Trade Services).
- Knowledge of Material Ledger and Actual Costing.
- Team lead / people management experience.
