Role Overview:


We are seeking a seasoned logistics professional to spearhead our freight forwarding operations in Lagos. In this leadership capacity, you will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of international shipments, ensuring seamless coordination between global carriers, local customs authorities, and our internal logistics teams. You will act as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, navigating the complexities of the Nigerian regulatory landscape to ensure timely delivery and operational excellence. By optimizing supply chain workflows and mitigating transit risks, you will directly influence our regional profitability and strengthen our reputation as a reliable partner in the West African logistics market.


Key Responsibilities:


- Direct end-to-end shipping operations to ensure cost-effective and timely movement of goods for our diverse client portfolio.


- Manage complex customs clearance processes by maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies to minimize port congestion and demurrage costs.


- Lead cross-functional teams to streamline import and export documentation, ensuring full compliance with international trade laws and local Nigerian standards.


- Develop and execute strategic logistics plans that enhance service delivery and improve overall customer satisfaction metrics.

- Monitor market trends and carrier performance to negotiate competitive freight rates, directly impacting the companys bottom-line performance.


Required Skillset:


- Demonstrate deep expertise in managing complex freight forwarding operations, specifically within the Nigerian import/export environment.


- Exhibit advanced proficiency in navigating customs clearance protocols, tariff classifications, and trade compliance regulations.


- Possess exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with shipping lines, port authorities, and high-profile corporate clients.


- Showcase strong analytical capabilities to identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions in a fast-paced, on-site environment.


- Maintain a professional demeanor and clear communication style, essential for leading diverse teams and managing high-pressure logistics scenarios.


- Hold a relevant degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, complemented by 11 - 15 years of progressive experience in the shipping and freight industry.
