Position: Senior Risk Market Abuse Monitoring

Location: [Mumbai]

Reports To: Head Risk / CRO

Role Objective

To strengthen the Risk function by institutionalizing mechanisms for detecting, deterring and reporting potential market abuse (including front-running, insider trading, fraudulent transactions), while ensuring strict compliance with SEBI, NSE, BSE, and AMC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Market Abuse Surveillance

- Monitor and detect potential cases of front-running, insider trading, and fraudulent securities transactions.

- Process and review daily alerts generated from surveillance systems.

- Escalate anomalies promptly to Risk Head/Board/Trustees as per regulatory requirements.

Communication & Access Review

- Review and analyse recorded communications: dealing room chats, emails, voice recordings, access logs, and CCTV footage.

- Identify unusual access patterns to AMCs premises and dealing room.

Regulatory Reporting & Escalation

- Prepare and submit reports of examined alerts and action taken to SEBI, NSE, and BSE.

- Ensure timely reporting to Board of Directors and Trustees of potential market abuse instances.

Governance & Vigilance

- Institutionalize robust frameworks for deterrence of market abuse in line with SEBI regulations.

- Conduct periodic training and awareness sessions for dealing staff.

- Liaise with exchanges/regulators to stay updated on evolving surveillance standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience:

- 5-10 years of experience in Risk / Compliance / Surveillance with exposure to NSE/BSE vigilance or SEBI regulations.

- Prior experience in AMC, Brokerage, Exchange or Market Infrastructure Institution preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

- Strong knowledge of SEBI, NSE, BSE compliance frameworks.

- Hands-on experience with trade surveillance systems and alert management tools.

- Analytical mindset with strong investigative and escalation skills.

- High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

- CA/CS/MBA (Finance)/CFA/FRM or equivalent.

- Certifications in Securities Markets from NISM/SEBI desirable.
