Responsibilities
- Due Diligence & Research: Conduct in-depth research on prospective companies, industries, and market trends. Analyze financial statements, business models, and competitive landscapes to understand key drivers and potential risks.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare investment memos, presentations, and other documents for internal review and consideration by the investment committee.
- Market Intelligence: Use data platforms like Bloomberg / CapIQ and other research tools to gather industry data, track market movements, and support the valuation process.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Provide assistance with a variety of projects as needed, such as portfolio company analysis, mergers and acquisitions research, and performance tracking.
Qualifications
Education: A Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance is required. Candidacy for or attainment of the CFA Level III certification is highly advantageous.
Experience: 7-10 years of professional experience in buy-side investment research is necessary, with direct exposure to supporting private equity or hedge fund portfolio managers. Prior experience in a front-office research capacity is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Prior experience with financial data terminals, such as Bloomberg, is required.
- A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is expected.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools for research and data analysis is considered a plus.
Personal Attributes:
- Superior written and oral communication skills are essential.
- The ability to operate autonomously and manage multiple tasks is a must.
- The individual is expected to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to learn new information quickly.
- A team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
