Senior Project Planner - Solar/Renewable EPC

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Planner with strong expertise in planning, scheduling, and project controls for large-scale solar EPC projects.

The ideal candidate will lead schedule development, monitoring, risk analysis, and reporting, ensuring seamless integration across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

- Develop, review, and approve integrated baseline schedules (L1L4) for large-scale solar projects.

- Establish WBS, critical paths, milestones, and schedule logic in alignment with contractual requirements.

- Build and maintain master schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

- Implement standard planning procedures, methodologies, and templates across all renewable projects.

- Track project progress vs. baseline, perform variance analysis, and highlight schedule deviations.

- Prepare S-curves, manpower & equipment histograms, dashboards, and EVM-based progress reports.

- Lead weekly/monthly reviews with management, clients, and internal teams with data-driven insights.

- Develop recovery and mitigation schedules to address delays and performance gaps.

Project Controls & Coordination

- Manage resource planning, manpower deployment forecasts, and equipment utilization.

- Support project cash flow projections based on schedule progress and billing milestones.

- Track procurement schedules, vendor commitments, and delivery timelines.

- Assist in evaluating cost/schedule impacts of changes, delays, and variations.

- Identify schedule-related risks and recommend mitigation strategies proactively.

- Conduct delay analysis (prospective/retrospective) for Extension of Time (EOT) and claims.

- Work closely with legal/contracts teams to document and justify delay events.

- Mentor and guide project planning teams at site and headquarters.

- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, safety, construction, and commissioning teams for integrated planning.

- Interface with clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding schedules and progress updates.

Deliverables

- Approved baseline schedules (L1L4) and periodic updates.

- Weekly & monthly progress reports with EVM, histograms, dashboards, and forecasts.

- Standardized planning systems and reporting formats across all projects.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

- 10-15 years of experience in project planning & controls within Solar/Renewable EPC or IPP projects.

- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.

- Advanced Excel, analytical, and dashboard reporting skills.

- Experience working in remote project locations is preferred
