Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Specialist with strong expertise in Management Company Accounting to support, enhance, and optimize accounting processes within financial services operations.

The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), bridging the gap between business users, product teams, and technology teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and continuous product improvement.

This role requires deep understanding of management company accounting concepts such as expense allocations, budgeting, forecasting, general ledger processes, financial reporting, and performance analytics - combined with strong product management and stakeholder coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Management Company Accounting processes, tools, and workflows.

- Collaborate with business users to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements for product enhancements.

- Support the design, configuration, and rollout of new system features and solutions related to accounting workflows.

- Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and accounting analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Partner with Technology and Product teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and resolve defects.

- Lead UAT planning and execution, including test case creation, defect tracking, and stakeholder sign-off.

- Provide guidance to junior team members and support teams on accounting logic, controls, and system usage.

- Prepare financial and operational reports, dashboards, and documentation to support management decision-making.

- Ensure accounting processes adhere to internal controls, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Participate in strategic product roadmap discussions, contributing insights to improve efficiency and automation.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 5-9 years of experience in Management Company Accounting, Fund Accounting, Product Support, or Financial Systems.

- Strong understanding of key accounting processes including GL, AP, AR, expense management, forecasting, budgeting, allocations, and financial reporting.

- Experience working with financial products or platforms used in asset management or private equity environments.

- Proficiency with accounting tools such as Oracle, SAP, Investran, Geneva, or similar platforms (depending on company tech stack).

- Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills; SQL knowledge is a plus.

- Experience in writing BRDs, functional specs, and workflow diagrams.

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively across business and technical teams.

- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and process improvement capabilities.
