Senior Officer - Trade Finance - Oil & Gas Firm

Title: Senior Trade Finance Officer Commodity Trading | Remote

Location: Remote / India-based candidates preferred

Experience: 10+ years in trade finance within a commodity trading environment (oil & gas preferred)

About the opportunity:

- We are partnering with a global commodity trading company to hire a Senior Trade Finance Officer.

- The role is fully remote and reports to the Head of Trade Finance & Treasury based in Geneva.

Ideal candidates will have:

- At least 10 years of relevant trade finance experience (more senior profiles welcome)

- Background specifically in commodity trading (banking-only profiles not suitable)

- Immediate availability or up to 2 months notice

- Fluency in English and strong work ethics

Key responsibilities include:

- Issuing L/Cs, bank guarantees and managing related negotiations

- Reviewing contracts and ensuring contractual compliance

- Coordinating closely with deals desk and operations teams

- Monitoring exposure, release & stock management, and weekly mark-to-market

- Managing shipping documents, cargo payments, and liaising with banks and financial institutions

- This is an individual contributor role (no team management), perfect for someone who enjoys detail, speed and working closely with international teams.

What youll bring:

- Trade finance experience specifically in oil & gas or commodity trading

- Familiarity with L/C issuance, risk coverage, and contract checks

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- High level of accuracy and ability to handle fast-paced trading workflows
