Senior Manager - Trade Surveillance

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Trade Surveillance function, focusing on the integrity of our Fixed Income and broader market operations. In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and refinement of surveillance frameworks to detect and mitigate potential market abuse, ensuring full compliance with global regulatory standards. You will act as a strategic partner to front-office trading desks, compliance officers, and senior stakeholders, providing critical insights that protect the firm's reputation and operational license. By leveraging advanced surveillance technology and deep market knowledge, you will drive a culture of proactive risk management, directly influencing the firm's ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and maintain market transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end surveillance lifecycle for Fixed Income products, identifying anomalous trading patterns to prevent market abuse and ensure adherence to internal policies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Risk, and Technology, to enhance surveillance algorithms and reduce false positives, thereby increasing the efficiency of the compliance monitoring process.

- Conduct deep-dive investigations into complex trading activities, providing actionable intelligence to senior management to support high-stakes decision-making and regulatory reporting.

- Mentor a high-performing team of surveillance analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and regulatory rigor to meet evolving market demands.

- Represent the firm in regulatory audits and inquiries, articulating the robustness of our surveillance controls to external bodies and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrate deep expertise in Market Surveillance and Trade Surveillance, specifically within Fixed Income asset classes, with a proven ability to interpret complex market data and regulatory requirements.

- Exhibit strong analytical capabilities to identify and investigate potential instances of market abuse, coupled with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, concise reports for senior leadership.

- Possess exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate sensitive discussions with traders and stakeholders, ensuring that compliance objectives are met without compromising business velocity.

- Maintain a proactive mindset toward regulatory change, demonstrating the ability to adapt surveillance strategies to new market trends and evolving global compliance standards.

- Hold a relevant postgraduate degree or professional certification in Finance, Law, or Risk Management, reflecting a strong academic foundation that complements your 11 to 18 years of industry experience.
