Senior Manager - Taxation - CA

Description:

We are looking for an experienced taxation professional to lead direct and indirect tax functions within a leading banking/financial services setup.

Role Purpose:

To manage end-to-end tax compliance, ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, optimize tax positions within the legal framework, and provide strategic tax advisory support to business and treasury operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Taxation (Income Tax):

- Manage corporate tax compliance including computation, provisioning & return filing

- Oversee advance tax, TDS & withholding tax compliance

- Handle assessments, scrutiny, appeals & tax litigation

- Coordinate with consultants and represent before tax authorities

- Ensure accurate tax provisioning under IND-AS / IFRS

Indirect Taxation (GST & Others):

- Ensure timely GST filings (GSTR-1, 3B, annual returns)

- Monitor GST applicability on banking services & cross-border transactions

- Optimize input tax credit and manage reversals

- Handle departmental audits, notices & litigation

Regulatory & International Taxation:

- Manage transfer pricing compliance

- Ensure compliance for offshore units (IFSC)

- Track amendments in tax laws impacting the banking sector

Reporting & Controls:

- Support statutory, internal & regulatory audits

- Prepare tax MIS and management updates for senior leadership & Board

Key Skills:

- Strong understanding of banking taxation & regulatory environment

- Expertise in corporate tax, GST & international taxation

- Experience in handling scrutiny & departmental audits independently

- Strong analytical & documentation skills

- Ability to interact with regulators & senior stakeholders

- High integrity and risk awareness

Qualifications & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (Mandatory)

- 8 to 10 years of taxation experience

- Minimum 5+ years in Banking / NBFC / Financial Services

- Proven experience in handling assessments and audits independently
