Role Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Manager - Supply Chain Management to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. This role is responsible for driving demand-supply alignment, procurement, production planning, inventory optimization, logistics, and distribution excellence while ensuring cost efficiency, service level adherence, and operational scalability. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams to support business growth and market responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Supply Chain Leadership:

- Lead end-to-end FMCG supply chain operations including demand planning, supply planning, procurement, production coordination, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.

- Drive demand-supply planning processes in collaboration with sales, marketing, and forecasting teams to ensure high service levels and optimal inventory.

- Ensure uninterrupted availability of finished goods and raw materials across plants, depots, and distribution centers.

Planning, Inventory & Distribution Management:

- Oversee inventory planning and control to optimize stock levels, reduce working capital, and minimize obsolescence and expiry risks.

- Manage primary and secondary logistics operations to ensure timely deliveries, cost optimization, and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

- Monitor and improve key supply chain KPIs such as OTIF, fill rate, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, TAT, and logistics cost as a percentage of sales.

Procurement & Vendor Management:

- Lead strategic sourcing and vendor management for raw materials, packaging materials, and logistics service providers.

- Drive vendor negotiations, contracts, cost reduction initiatives, and alternate vendor development.

- Ensure supplier compliance with quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.

Process Improvement & Digital Enablement:

- Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, agility, and resilience.

- Drive adoption of ERP, planning tools, and digital dashboards for real-time visibility and decision-making.

- Standardize SOPs and governance frameworks across supply chain functions.

Cross-Functional & Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain teams across planning, logistics, procurement, and operations.

- Collaborate closely with sales, finance, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to align supply chain strategy with business objectives.

- Support new product launches, capacity expansion, and network optimization initiatives.

Experience & Eligibility:

- 8 to 12+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management within the FMCG / Consumer Goods / Food & Beverage industry.

- Strong hands-on experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and distribution operations.

- Proven experience managing large-scale FMCG supply chains, multi-location warehouses, and distributor-led networks.

- Experience working in structured, KPI-driven organizations with ERP-based systems.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Deep understanding of FMCG supply chain dynamics and distribution models.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar), planning tools, and advanced Excel.

- Ability to drive cost optimization, service improvement, and operational excellence.

Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related discipline.

- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics from a reputed institute is strongly preferred.

- Professional certifications (APICS / CSCP / CPIM) will be an added advantage.
