Role Overview:

The Senior Manager Supply Chain Management will lead end-to-end supply chain execution for e-commerce operations, with a strong focus on vendor performance, supply reliability, inventory flow, and operational excellence. The role is responsible for building a resilient, scalable supplier ecosystem that supports fast-paced online demand, ensures superior customer experience, and enables cost-efficient fulfillment.

This position requires hands-on leadership in supplier development, demandsupply alignment, risk management, and continuous improvement across digital commerce supply networks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supplier & Vendor Performance Management:

- Manage and continuously monitor the e-commerce supplier and vendor ecosystem to ensure consistent service levels, product quality, and delivery performance.

- Drive On-Time In-Full (OTIF), order accuracy, and quality compliance through structured vendor reviews and corrective action plans.

- Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews with vendors, internal sourcing teams, and operations stakeholders.

2. Supply Assurance & Order Fulfillment Support:

- Work closely with category managers, buyers, and fulfillment teams to ensure uninterrupted supply for online demand.

- Proactively address supply risks, stock-outs, backlogs, and vendor capacity constraints.

- Support high-volume events, seasonal peaks, and promotional campaigns through advance planning and vendor readiness.

3. Vendor Development & Capability Enhancement:

- Lead vendor development programs to improve order fulfillment speed, packaging standards, quality controls, and system readiness.

- Enable vendors to adopt e-commerce best practices, tools, and dashboards for order tracking, OTIF, and SLA adherence.

- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive operational maturity across the vendor network.

4. New Vendor Onboarding & Sourcing:

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors using comprehensive qualification frameworks covering capacity, compliance, quality, and commercial viability.

- Drive vendor diversification and risk mitigation strategies to support business scalability and geographic expansion.

- Support negotiations, contract structuring, SLAs, and long-term vendor partnerships.

5. Inventory Flow & Replenishment Excellence:

- Ensure smooth inventory flow across warehouses, fulfillment centers, and last-mile partners.

- Implement replenishment, safety stock, and demand-driven planning models to reduce stock-outs and excess inventory.

- Support pull-based systems and replenishment frameworks to improve inventory turns and working capital efficiency.

6. Process Governance, KPIs & Continuous Improvement:

- Define and track key KPIs such as OTIF, order accuracy, fulfillment TAT, vendor compliance scorecards, inventory aging, and return rates.

- Establish SOPs, governance frameworks, and escalation mechanisms for vendor and supply chain operations.

- Drive automation, system enhancements, and workflow standardization to improve scalability and reliability.

7. Risk Management & Operational Resilience:

- Conduct vendor risk assessments covering capacity, service continuity, compliance, and financial stability.

- Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, demand surges, and operational failures.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, packaging, and marketplace standards.

8. Financial & Commercial Oversight:

- Support cost optimization initiatives across sourcing, fulfillment, logistics, and returns.

- Analyze vendor commercials, margins, and service costs to improve overall supply chain profitability.

- Contribute to P&L performance through improved service efficiency and reduced operational losses.

9. Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

- Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain and vendor management teams.

- Collaborate with category, technology, customer experience, finance, and logistics teams.

- Act as a senior operations stakeholder, driving accountability and execution excellence.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Deep understanding of e-commerce supply chain and fulfillment operations

- Strong vendor and partner management expertise

- Data-driven decision-making with strong analytical skills

- Experience with demand variability, peak planning, and rapid scale-up

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities

- High ownership mindset with execution focus

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related fields.

- Masters degree or MBA in Supply Chain / Operations / Logistics is preferred.

- Certifications in Supply Chain, Operations Excellence, or Analytics are an advantage.

Required Experience:

- 12 - 18 years of progressive experience in e-commerce supply chain, vendor operations, or digital commerce fulfillment.

- Proven track record in managing large vendor networks, online order fulfillment, and supply assurance.

- Strong exposure to inventory planning, replenishment, and vendor performance governance.

- Experience working in high-growth e-commerce or omni-channel environments is strongly preferred.
