Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead statutory audit engagements for Banking and Financial Services clients. The role involves managing end-to-end audit delivery, leading large teams, managing senior client relationships, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage end-to-end statutory audit engagements for Banking and Financial Services clients.

- Plan audit assignments, assess key risks, define audit strategies, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality audit work.

- Review financial statements, audit working papers, and critical accounting judgments in accordance with applicable standards.

- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant banking regulations and reporting requirements.

- Lead and mentor audit teams, allocate responsibilities, review deliverables, and provide technical guidance.

- Manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously while maintaining quality, timelines, and regulatory compliance.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with CFOs, Finance Heads, senior management, and other client stakeholders.

- Identify accounting, reporting, process, and control issues and provide practical recommendations for improvement.

- Coordinate with internal specialists and cross-functional teams on complex accounting, regulatory, and audit matters.

- Support engagement planning, budgeting, resource management, and overall commercial performance.

- Contribute to business development through client discussions, proposals, and identification of additional service opportunities.

- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, banking regulations, and audit methodologies and ensure their effective application across engagements.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 8-12 years of relevant experience in statutory audit / assurance, preferably with a Big 4 or leading professional services firm.

- Mandatory experience handling Banking / Financial Services audit engagements.

- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and accounting and reporting requirements applicable to the banking sector.

- Experience managing end-to-end statutory audits and leading sizeable audit teams.

- Strong understanding of banking products, financial statements, risk areas, and regulatory requirements.

- Proven experience managing multiple engagements, senior stakeholders, and competing priorities.

- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and client-management skills.

- Qualified CA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
