The GM of Shared Services will establish and lead the operational heartbeat of TORQ's global middle and back-office functions. This role is responsible for ensuring that financial, HR, IT, and analytical services are delivered with "surgical peace"-combining high-efficiency execution with rigorous compliance to UK, Austrian, and Indian regulations.
B. Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Operations & Payment Processing
- Trade Settlements: Lead end-to-end payment operations, including invoice processing and vendor reconciliations specifically for commodities trade.
- Compliance: Ensure all transactions meet FCA (UK) and FMA (Austria) regulations while minimizing forex risks in multi-currency environments.
- Treasury: Optimize cash pooling and provide hedging support for international trading desks.
2. Financial Reporting & Analytics
- Dual Reporting: Manage IFRS-compliant reporting for European entities and Indian GAAP for local compliance.
- Insights: Deliver data-driven insights on trading margins, VaR (Value at Risk), and counterparty exposures to the London and Vienna offices.
3. HR & Talent Management
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration for the SSC staff.
- Compliance: Ensure all HR processes align with Indian Labour Laws and EU Data Privacy (GDPR).
4. IT, ERP & Digital Transformation
- Systems: Manage SAP/ERP support, including user access, integrations, and troubleshooting for trading platforms.
- Innovation: Lead digital transformation initiatives, specifically focusing on Automation (RPA) and AI to drive process efficiency.
- Uptime: Coordinate cybersecurity and infrastructure to ensure 24/7 uptime for global trading operations.
5. Operational Excellence
- KPI Management: Build a high-performance culture with strict SLAs (e.g., 99% payment accuracy, 95% reporting timeliness).
- Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency through Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
C. Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent. Certifications in ERP (SAP) or Data Analytics are highly preferred.
- Experience: 12-15 years in Shared Services or Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within Commodities Trading or a global SSC environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of FEMA, RBI guidelines, IFRS, and GDPR.
- Technical Skills: Advanced ERP expertise and a proven track record in leading digital transformation.
D. Core Competencies
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to act as the primary bridge between Navi Mumbai and leadership in London/Vienna.
- Change Leadership: Experience in building a team from the ground up or leading significant organizational shifts.
- Cross-Cultural Communication: Comfort working across different time zones and business cultures (UK/EU/India).
