Role Purpose:

To lead the Project & Maintenance function at the Saswad Plant by ensuring effective maintenance of all plant equipment and utilities, execution of new and expansion projects, adherence to statutory and safety compliances, and driving energy efficiency. The role is responsible for developing a capable team, minimizing downtime, and ensuring smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Management:

- Lead and manage the overall maintenance of production and utility equipment.

- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.

- Drive reduction of breakdowns through effective monitoring and timely resolution of issues.

- Establish and monitor machine-wise maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR).

- Ensure availability of critical spares while managing inventory within cost targets.

- Liaise with vendors, AMC partners, and OEMs for effective maintenance support.

- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of boilers, DG sets, compressors, steam lines, and ETP facilities.

Projects & Plant Engineering:

- Lead brownfield and greenfield projects, from design through execution to commissioning.

- Prepare DPRs, CAPEX proposals, project timelines, and cost estimates for approval.

- Oversee installation, commissioning, and trial runs of new machinery and production lines.

- Manage sachet and pouch machines installation, operation, and optimization; prior exposure to retort technology preferred.

- Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective project execution.

- Drive food industry projects and engineering initiatives with strong focus on quality and compliance.

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, ISO, Factory Act, Electrical and Fire Safety norms.

- Drive initiatives for energy conservation and sustainability in plant operations.

- Implement engineering controls to improve safety, hygiene, and reliability of processes.

Technology & Digitalization:

- Implement and manage SCADA-based IoT systems for monitoring and control of utilities.

- Enable integration of plant engineering systems with SAP/BI dashboards for real-time insights and decision making.

Team & Process Management:

- Build and lead a competent team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

- Provide technical training and skill enhancement programs for the maintenance workforce.

- Conduct root cause analysis for repeated failures and implement permanent corrective actions.

- Collaborate with Production, QA/QC, and Supply Chain to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Requirement:

- B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering preferred) from a reputed university.

- 10-15 years of relevant experience in plant maintenance, engineering, and project management, preferably in FMCG / Food Processing / Manufacturing industry.

- Strong exposure to brownfield/greenfield projects, from design through execution.

- Proven expertise in boilers, DG sets, compressors, steam lines, ETP operations.

- Hands-on experience with sachet & pouch machines; exposure to retort systems an added advantage.

- Knowledge of preventive & predictive maintenance practices and large-scale project execution.

- Familiarity with SCADA-based IoT and linking to SAP/BI dashboards.

- Strong understanding of statutory compliance and engineering safety standards.

- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
