Sr Manager PD for reputed retail brand based in Bangalore

Job Summary:
We are hiring a Senior Manager Product Development (Apparels) for a leading fashion retail brand. The role will be responsible for driving end-to-end product development for the Kidswear category, ensuring commercial success through strong design execution, cost management, vendor partnerships, and strategic planning.
The incumbent will play a key role in shaping the category strategy, improving profitability, and maximizing contribution across retail channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Category Management:
- Lead end-to-end product development from concept to commercialization for Kidswear.
- Develop seasonal assortment plans aligned with brand strategy and market trends.
- Drive innovation in design, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, and finishes suitable for kidswear.
- Monitor category performance and ensure overall growth and profitability.
Costing, Pricing & Commercials:
- Own costing, pricing, and margin management for the category.
- Manage COGS and MRP to achieve targeted category multipliers and profitability.
- Work closely with sourcing and vendors to optimize costs without compromising quality.
- Ensure competitive pricing aligned with market benchmarks and consumer expectations.
Fabric & Sourcing Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, and raw materials suitable for kidswear.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams and mills for fabric development and innovation.
- Evaluate fabric performance, safety, comfort, and compliance standards for kids apparel.
Sampling & Vendor Management:
- Oversee sampling processes, approvals, and timelines.
- Manage vendor relationships including onboarding, performance evaluation, and capacity planning.
- Ensure vendors meet quality, cost, delivery, and compliance standards.
- Drive vendor negotiations and cost efficiencies.
Channel Planning & Option Planning:
- Plan MRPs and option plans across retail channels:
- EBO (Exclusive Brand Outlets)
- MBO (Multi-Brand Outlets)
- KA / Large Format Stores
- Online (if applicable)
- Align product mix and pricing strategy with channel-specific requirements.
Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement category strategies to maximize brand contribution.
- Analyze sales data, sell-through, and market trends to refine future assortments.
- Collaborate with merchandising, planning, sourcing, and marketing teams.
- Mentor and lead PD team members to deliver consistent results.
